Ladies and gentlemen, the Barra will get a new chant going in the stands this season!!! I know there are a lot of suggestions all over this message board, but I'm not going to take the time to consolidate all of those ideas into one place. Plus, the song we work on should have the collective support of the members on this board. This is how it will work.... 1.) If you have an idea, submit it to this thread. 2.) After 1 week or the first 20 submissions, this thread will be closed. 3.) The judges will review each submission and systematically select one of them for the Barra to learn. 4.) Big Soccer Barra members will collectively bring this song/chant to the rest of the Barra at the tailgates. More details on this later. There are so many members that we must focus on one song at a time. After we learn this first selected song, we will repeat this process, and move onto another. Here are the rules for v1.0 of submissions... 1.) Submit your song/chant idea and only song/chant ideas here. That means no comments about any ideas or any other discussion. Please. 2.) The judges have already been selected here -> https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=700282, so please do not ask to be a judge. (There will be future opportunities to judge the new songs/chants.) 3.) No team-specific songs/chants. This submission should be one we can use at any game. 4.) Provide lyrics and a tune. If possible, provide a sample of your submission being performed. If you're writing new lyrics to go over an existing melody, try to provide a sample of that melody. 5.) For v1.0, only submissions in either english or simple spoken sound phrases will be accepted. Example: Da-Da-DAA-DA! Oy-oy-OooY! Yeah-yeah-Yeah-Hey! Rational: Right now, the goal is to establish a process for the Barra to learn news songs. Using a simple idea will allow us to put more effort into working out the bugs in process than actually learning the new song/chant. Once the process is established, we can move onto other languages and more complicated ideas. 6.) Cursing is fine, but it will be edited in print form before it would be spread to the rest of the Barra. (When you see Freak instead of the F-Bomb on a lyric sheet, you'll know to actually say the F-bomb when you are in the stands.) 7.) If you have any questions, PM me. 8.) There is no shame in stealing an idea from any team or any other sport. 9.) Be creative. I expect to get 2 or 3 good ideas from this process. Were not going to throw away good ideas, but the judges determine which ones we are working on at any given time. One more thing, if your idea is the one selected, you will win the pride of being the one who suggested the Barra's newest in-stand chant!

The Numa Numa Song (the song is actually named Dragostea Din Tei), in the Gary Brolsma version. The arm movements and generally insane behaviour of Mr. Brolsma can easily be copied by a bunch of drunk fans without too much of an effort.
