Automatic candidate for stupid politician of the year. By the way, that thread and this should be merged.
I'd say Santorum is still in the lead. Anyone else catch his appearance on the Today show this morning?
You could be right, since this is more about 'tasteless and insulting' instead of merely 'incredibly stupid.' And no, I missed his appearance--anybody know of a link to a clip? I'd love to see it.
It's frightening to think of the logic they went through in thinking this would be a reasonable campaign move. Then to consider the same logic is used to make governmental decisions. If they used the funeral volleys, it's a shame they didn't redirect their fire.
At this stage all that's missing is a fundraiser on the way out with a voter registration drive.............
And our second collection today will be for the Sisters of the Poor... wait, no, it's for the Republican candidate who, with your support and God's, will smite the Democrates where they lieth.
What a dumbass she is. Does she have staff that scour the obits for returning war dead to see if she can finaggle votes? Too bad one of the sisters or other relatives didn't take her head off.
Gee...about as tasteless as the politicians flocking to the Passion of Terri, I'd say. Yes, that disgusting.
http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/05207/543820.stm How'd I know the blogosphere exaggerated/over-simlified this story? Knoll said she offered a business card to a Goodrich family member "as a sign of my willingness to help the family through this difficult time in any way I can. To do anything that was deemed insensitive was completely counter to my intent." I mean, if I wanted to be as exaggerating and over-simplistic, I could argue that the family was exploiting their grief to score political points of the republicans. But that would be as stupid as the initial blogification of this story.
Yep. Talk about awkward. I didn't completely disagree with the guy, but his attitude was obviously toned down abit for the target audience. Took some balls for him to show up. I thought Jon was respectful while trying to disagree with him. All together not a very good interview.
Leave it to you to attempt defend this indefensible politician who heartlessly crashed a private funeral to score political points with her anti-war message.
Well, I said the blogosphere exaggerated and over-simplified, and the one family member who took the presentation of a business card to be an act of campaigning had something to do with that. It's an awkward situation all around and the Lt. Governor is not free of blame, but I doubt if what she did is anywhere near as bad as was (over)stated in the initial reports.
