so if the Ivory Coast beat Egypt in a rematch of last years thriller of a final, at least one Arsenal player will raise the Africa Cup of Nations.

On another note, even if the IC lose, they still have to play a 3rd-place game. Meaning that Kolo and Eboue will have played the maximum amount of games in the competiton (aside from the one Toure missed through injury). There was an article on skysports a couple days ago about how Kolo fears he will be worn-out when he comes back to Arsenal and does not expect to regain his place right away.

I think that Senderos has done well, and can will be able to play against Blackburn and Man Utd... Its essential that we let Toure rest until the monster of a game on the 20th.

Kolo has missed at least 2 matches...

and their was an article in the Times a few weeks ago about how we statistically gain more points with Senderos than with Kolo

HAH! I put a TWO DOLLAR bet down on Cameroon AND Egypt winning- and now I'll get 30 bucks out of it.

...why couldn't I have at least put a fiver on it. :(

Since the third place game is pointless any chance we can convince the coach to send Toure back to us now? Eboue they can keep a week longer :p

HAH! I just saw that I'd also put three dollars down on Egypt winning, for an $11 dollar payoff! I'd totally forgotten!

Good day for me. Pretty small amounts compared to what other people bet, but I'm still having a good day. ;)

We'll be missing Eto'o during the game against Sevilla on Saturday :(. He might as well win the ACN with Cameroon now that he's in the final (Egypt are pretty dang good though).

I forgot this was an Arsenal board . Sorry :p

I think he's still carrying that knock. Hopefully he doesn't play in the 3rd/4th/pointless playoff.

Good to see the Ivory Coast lose.

As much as I like them, I want Toure back, even though Senderos is playing fairly well.

Plus the reason he got burnt.. I think he's just burnt out.

I say give Toure a rest for a week when he comes back. He can miss a couple of games.

The only problem is that the next couple of games will decide our season. FA Cup, Champions League, and the EPL.

Maybe use him selectively. Only the CL game in London?

For some reason I want the CL more than the FA Cup, but then again we are playing vs Manchester United at Old Trafford.

As for the ACN, go CAMEROON!

Always been my favorite African team.

I thought that too, but then I realized that win or lose in the semis there will be another game, be it 3rd place or the final. I would have rather had them win and come back on a high.

So you're saying that Toure should have to prove he's better than Senderos?

    Well, Senderos is on form.

Toure is going to come back very tired from the ACN.

Arsenal's record in the past couple of games has been good with Phillipe at the back.

However, I think a mixture is needed in the next couple of games.

Use Senderos for United and Blackburn.

    Use Toure for Milan.

    That's what I think.

its not? Senderos is on form, and playing good for us... im confident Kolo will beat out Senderos, but what kind of a message does it make to the club that guys are assured spots...

yes, and Im 100% confident he will... but give Senderos a chance...

I don't disagree really. But i think the deciding factor is going to be Kolo's fitness rather than Senderos' form.
