For context, he spent a full year playing/starting for the Defiance.
In addition, we don't know if the new HG's are even eligible to be on the gameday roster. They're "on assignment" with the Monarchs. No fan knows what that means.

watch this and tell me that RSL is even close to what his vision was/is
"We vanquished the demons": Garth Lagerwey on Seattle Sounders winning CCL | MLSSoccer.com

Also, how the hell this guy hasn't been offered run of the roost at USSF is just shameful. The guy will hopefully run the league one day if not USSF.

I'm thinking that this has already been mentioned before and I'm just a wee bit late to the conversation, but the Sunderland 'til I Die documentary on Netflix is rather riveting. I am almost done with the first season and thoroughly engaged and enamored with the whole thing.

Congrats to the black cats in their promotion back to the Championship. Sorry, spoiler alert. lol

Thanks for those recommendations guys. Netflix has a series featuring Juventus. It’s kind of in the vein of HBO’s Hard Knocks. Netflix also has a documentary on the Italian MNT’s Euro championship. Neither are riveting. But, if you are looking to feed your soccer Jones….

I predict that slow-mo replay of Chloe Kelly’s goal celebration will get many views on the webz.

I was impressed that she had the presence of mind to check the AR before getting a yellow card for a disallowed goal celebration. Got the shirt halfway up, dropped the shirt and checked the AR, and then started the celebration over.

Kelly was impressive her whole time on the field. Her composure on the goal (the replay showed she tried to crush that volley but stayed with it after the miss), her holdup play in the corner (who starts going to the corner with 5 minutes remaining in the game?), and her efforts to track back on defense. England's coach got it right with the subs she used in the game and was able to swing the momentum that Germany had.

I agree. The England coach did a great job throughout the tournament. That team has a lot of chemistry. Kelly obviously had planned to remove her jersey if the opportunity arose. It’s a personal brand building move, and smart.

Yep. Kelly is about to get some really good endorsement deals.

Flash back to the might Reds from Crawley Town sending EPL side Leeds home 3-0.

This time it's EPL side Fulham getting sent home in tears from the Broadfield Stadium of which I have been fortunate to attend 3 matches so far.

Lower league football is nothing but fun.

Cool article about Matt Turner and his time (3months) at Arsenal.

Is this the right place to put this story?
    https://www.mlssoccer.com/news/leagues-cup-2023-dates-and-structure-announced
It's not until next summer, so it can't go in the season news story.

    So RSL is currently....
you guessed it, 16th in the SS race. They better finish top 16, then they get to host their two matches. Plus there's a 3rd match at the RioT. Not sure where the other matches would be if they advance to the knockout round.
I think this is going to be so fun to watch. I really hope ownership takes this trophy opportunity seriously.

this makes Sunday's game with PTFC massive for the potential income of the club next year. A loss or draw almost certainly drops RSL below 16th

The following teams could jump RSL on Sunday: Vancouver, Charlotte , and cRapids
RSL, on the flip side, could jump ahead of: Cinci, Portland, Columbus, Minnesota, and Orlando.

@goobx1 will you let Tyler know that Norway isn't in the World Cup
    Or is that the joke?

I kept meaning to look it up when he brings it up because I didn't think that Norway was in the WC either. It will definitely be a joke now.

Has anyone else watched The Figo Affair on Netflix? It’s a documentary about Luis Figo’s controversial transfer from Barcelona to Real Madrid. Pretty wild stuff.

That makes sense. Much easier to buy a controlling stake in a smaller team that's established vs starting brand new. Although long term I wonder what the cost ends up looking like. Unless you plan on sitting low-mid table, I'd imagine long term investment might wind up making up a lot of that difference.

I’m frankly disappointed. I want a franchise in Vegas. Because our two cities are almost cultural opposites and Vegas would be the closest franchise to us geographically, it would be more of a natural rivalry than Colorado. Plus, Vegas is a much easier drive than Commerce City…and a better destination. The stadium seems to be the biggest issue in Vegas.

Vegas would be a neat destination, no doubt. I kind of wonder if they'd need an indoor stadium for it though. Temps in the summer can be brutal and playing there in the open would be rough.

Stadium costs are the main issue. And, yes, the capacity for indoors play is important April through September.
