Brian Straus will be online at 1 pm tomorrow on washingtonpost.com... give him lots of good questions!
Here's the transcript of today's chat: http://discuss.washingtonpost.com/zforum/03/sp_sports_straus042403.htm I thought it went well. Boise, Idaho was well represented! ------ To those "hardcore soccer fans" and "the men are better than the women" chodes...first off you need to get yourself on a treadmill and get rid of the beer gut...it's moronic to compare womens soccer to mens soccer. Apples and oranges. With regards to music and t-shirt tosses into the crowds...yes I am one of those that do find it annoying but go to any other minor/major league sports venue and you'll see the same thing. I've gone to hockey games and they play white trash AC-DC music during play. I've gone to women's basketball games and the damn geek pep band plays at every stoppage in play. Music and t-shirt tosses and trying to get people to do the wave is part of the sports culture. Deal with it.
Boise ... a little TOO well represented! Other highlights: A hooligan brawl between Sam's Army and the PTHs! Hanna Ljungberg ... related to Fredrik? "The whole group is easy to talk to..." except in the showers!!!! Jen Grubb for WNT!!!! Xu who? And "did you see the United-Fire game on Saturday?" TURN OFF THE MUSIC!
