This has nothing to do with the Fire per say, but since the Fire's announcement any story regarding Bridgeview is of more interest to me. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/chi-0402080265feb08,1,7430569.story
I read this article and was surprised to learn these facts from the Tribune's excellent reporting (ideas taken from Trib... not me) 1) Islam is predominantly a non-violent religion, and even preaches elements of restraint and pacifism 2) Not all Muslims are terrorists 3) But watch out ... because some are! 4) Sheik Sa'id raised $50,000 in a matter of minutes from his mosque peoples. This money went directly to a man residing in Pakistan that is under investigation for "allegedly" giving money to terrorists. 5) "Allah Akhbar" means "God is great" ... or does it mean "I am a terrorist"??? ... no, it means "God is great." 6) I don't care if the idea was started by the liberal elements that oppose Ariel Sharon... this Israeli-Palestinian wall thing has to be one of the worst solutions we could have come up with (this is from me, not the Trib) 7) No mention of the Fire in this article. Actually I think it's good news that (at least for now) we are not associated with hardliner religious fundamentalists.
There is no god but Wilt, and Armas is his Prophet Isn't Section 8 made up of hardliner Fire fundamentalists? Ante akhbar!
and how is this thread Fire or soccer related???? If they announced they were moving to Humboldt park would you be skimming every news article on Latin King gangbangers or Puerto Rican sepratists?
I have to agree. I don't see why there being a mosque 2 miles away from the stadium site is any different then there being a Denny's. Except the Denny's is probably more relevant to the discussion. Closed.
