I just loved this story, the writer did an amazing job. I thought it deserved its own thread and didn't want anybody to miss it. I wish everybody in Houston could read it. It's from MLSSoccer.com. "Of course the Dynamo had played in heat before – it’s always been a not-so-secret weapon since the MLS Cup runs in 2006 and 2007 – but this was different. This was more than 22,000 fans glistening in the summer sun. This was monuments throughout the stadium honoring Houston heroes of the past. This was a field practically hand-tailored by head coach Dominic Kinnear, 70 yards wide by 115 long. This was David Beckham begging the schedule-makers for mercy. This was everything – everything! – covered in orange. This was the way the Dynamo had always dreamed it up." http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2012/12/19/stories-year-no-12-bbva-compass-stadium The video is great too and Brad's story is fantastic. It's just number 12 in a list of 12. How could anything have been better?
I dug it. It describes the way I felt for that first game. I wanted Ching to score but Davis was equally as deserving.
I had thought that when any MLS team opens up a new SSS that it would be #1 on the list for that specific season. A downtown new stadium in our league. And to thus win against the league's flagship club no less, well I guess us in Houston must settle for #12. It was a day to remember.
^ Ortiz is voted that for numbers 1-11. Kidding....Ortiz > Every other reporter in the US from a major newspaper that does beat for an MLS team.
sorry for thread shitting. I didn't visit the link and thought it was 12 stories about BBVA Compass Stadium.
