http://www.3rddegree.net/thirdindex.cfm?page=article&show=64 More teases about the new midfielder......yes, yes, we know he's coming.......but when.....I feel like I am in a Tom Stoppard play......arghhhhhhh.
Actually, I think the link to Buzz's tease is here: http://3rddegree.matchnight.com/thirdindex.cfm?page=article&show=63 What do we know about the mysterious 'player X'? -'last played' in English 1st Division. (last played? Does that mean he's not currently playing there?) -not English -not British (but he could still be regular Irish, NOT Northern Irish, right?) -'has several caps for his national team' I guess that last part rules out the Frenchman, as well as any Irishman. -will count as an SI. This could be because he makes too much, or is too old to be a TI. Likely both.
Not according to another source. And also none of these guys apparently: Artim Sakiri from West Bromwich Albion (Macedonian) Chris Bart-Williams from Ipswich town (Sierra Leone) Youssef Safri from Coventry (Morrocan) Gianfranco Labarthe Tome from Derby (Peru)
I can´t get anyone to go 'on the record'. I know who it is, but can´t say until I get someone to tell me. That is not they way I do things. As sooon as I get someone to tell me I will let you know. He will probably be in Spain on Wednesday I am told.
That's what it sounds like to me, since Buzz is usually very careful with his choice of words. Plus, my understanding (vague though it is) is that the transfer window is closed on both sides of the Atlantic until this summer. That means the only foreign players the Burn can sign right now are free agents presently out of contract.
I thought it was open until March 1 for MLS? Also, wasn't there some talk about this mystery player buying out the remainder of his own contract with a current club?
Okay, those of you in the know of all the foreign players, just what is Buzz trying to tell us with the can´t? That is obviously a clue.
Transfer window for MLS to acquire players is open until March 31st that's the end of March. And yes, buying out his own contract was mentioned previously.
With the hints 3rd is droping, I'm thinking the player is from one of the following countries:Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Finland, or Denmark. Their alphabet has some letters like the one 3rd was using. Just a guess on my part without looking up each D1 team.
Props to the Burn front office for keeping this under wraps. Usually there is a leak or at least names being thrown around. We've basically got nothing except for he's probably blonde with blue eyes....
I think it is the keyboard he is using in Spain. Every time he uses a ' it inserts that weird character. If he is using code it is one of the more clever things he's done. Let's all get our decoders rings out just in case. It just occurred to me that they use letters like that in Middle Earth. Maybe he is from Rohan or Gondor.
So, in other words, to get around the fact that the transfer window is currently closed in the UK, the player buys out his own contract in order to make himself a free agent? Interesting idea -- though it sounds like the type of thing that FIFA might clamp down on.
Maybe he is an Elf? While you could be right about the key board he is usingin Spain, I'm not too sure though. Might depends on where he is posting.
Please have your Visia or Americn Express ready. Not avaible in Washington DC or Alabama. No CODs accept
My understanding is that the transfer window applies only to the buying team. As long as our window remains open, that of the selling team is irrelevant.
It's been a while since I checked, but I believe Gondor, a once-proud team that has been in a long decline, has some new old coach with a pointy hat who has worked miracles for them. Rohan plays a rather direct, 10th century British style game, but I have heard their women's team is very tough... In Middle Earth Regional World Cup qualifying, I think the table will go something like this: 1. Rivendell--tall and blonde, very classy and sophisticated game, they can only beat themselves--sort of like Netherlands 2. Mordor--play ugly but have a lot of firepower--compare to Germany 3. Gondor--a once proud power, but may be on the rise--compare to England? 4. Rohan--drab, but direct, organized, and tough--much like the Scots or Norwegians 5. Shire-a bit undersized, but very persistent...kind of like Guatemala 6. Moria--pretty hopeless and disorganized--compare to Venezuela 7. Bree- tiny, underpopulated country--not much of a chance--compare to Luxembourg or Malta 8. Dwarven Territories--very hopeless--compare to, I don't know...American Samoa?
