yes i know there are topics about how to put more distance into your kick and all but i still can't do it. sometimes i am able to hit the ball with my laces nicely and it feels good but most of the time it does not. whenever i try to strike the ball by sliding my foot under it as other topics have explained my shoe still hits the ground a lot, this has caused my first 2 studs on the instep of my shoes a lot of wear and now half of the studs are rubbed off. i know that this shouldnt happen and every one of my friends' studs are perfectly shaped, unlike my rubbed down ones. i was just wondering if anyone had any tips on how to correct my inconsistent kicking problems.

practice, practice, and more practice. thats the only way to develop a consistent kick.

Do a lot of individual training just kicking the ball against a wall doing all the different kinds of kicks. And if a kick comes out well, try to think about what you did, and try to repeat it. If your wearing out your studs, you're probably hitting it too low, try a bit higher.

There's no secret formula that'll automatically make you strike the ball perfectly. It just takes heaps of practice and a never say die resolve.

"whenever i try to strike the ball by sliding my foot under it"

Somebody told you that? That isn't an instep drive the "Shot. Stabbing under the ball is a chip not a shot so forget that.

Sometimes the space between the non kicking foot and the ball is to far or two close. Adjust that until you like what you get.

Lock your ankle toe down hit through the ball.

Getting a good shot from farther out envolves a ton of repition.

Good shot within the 18 envolves setting up the keeper and location. Do something to get the keeper to move left or right then just pass the ball where he left. It can be as easy as that to score.

He/she was talking about two different shots - the "sliding" shot is the one goalies use (the longest shot of all). The one where you hit the bottom of the ball with your inside of the foot.
