He didnt either. He simply said he wants to actually do something in Mexico while he still could. He also noted that going to MLS means that he will likely lose his dream of being part of the National team. When he mentions "Maybe if I was 30", he assumes that he had already accomplished what he did in Mexico. IS it so wrong for a guy to want to become a star with credentials in his own country before leaving? Specially to play in half empty stadiums for peanuts?

Let's see, play in my own country where fans go crazy for their teams and I can be big part of my country's/team's history. Or go play in any other league where no one cares wheter I score 40 goals or 1 goal and make 1/10 of what I will make. If you take it personally that YOUR problem, but you know you would do the same. Beasley, Mathis, Howard all do.

    1. He didn't say it verbatim, but he inferred that he wants to show that he still has the skill to play there, and if he were to play in MLS, it would show he doesn't. Yes, he also stated that he wants to be on the Mexican national soccer scene and accomplish things and he feels that would not coincide. We'll see how right he is with the team/players that LA Chivas brings in. Also, yes, he specifically states that it is not that he dislikes US' league, but that is the other question. What makes him believe he'll excel in MLS after 30? Confidence? or view of MLS?

    2. Settle down ;) I have no problem with it and I actually agree with alot of what you say, like about staying in Mexico with decent money and generally more/better fans.

    3. It's a interesting article for discussion about MLS' level and skill, and of another angle to compare US / Mexico leagues, teams, and the argument of whether both US / Mexican national team hopefuls would lose ground if he played in the respective opposite leagues.

He doesnt beleive he will excel, he simply mentions he'll give it a try if he was 30, after he'd had his turn at the Mexican League. I think youre putting way to much emphasis on something that isnt there. He simply doesn't want to leave his country now, nothing about MLS' skill or anything. You can assume he's saying thing because of it but in reality, you know he just wants to excell in his own league before he tries anything else.

I haven't read the article, but this is for anyone who thinks MLS is a retirement league.
