questions for Tuesday night's event have to be submitted today. Any non-season ticket holders got any questions they would like to be submitted?
Surely: 1) Why is Gordon still on the team? 2) How is Esky's "situation" and will he play again? 3) Do you think Eminem's "Relapse 2" album will be out this year and wtf is going on with "Detox"?
So who all is going tomorrow? I'm not sure whether to expect a madhouse or a lukewarm crowd since it's a weekday thing. Actually, it's my first STH event so I'm not sure what to expect at all. The only thing I know is I have like no chance of meeting both Donovan and Becks, according to an ambassador on here, which I want to prove wrong.
I am going to go. From past events, they have been pretty well attended regardless of being during the week.
I am going. I went last year too. It was pretty fun, and I got to most of the rooms. I didnt get to Landon or Beckhams, because I wanted to get to the other rooms before I got to theirs. Its organized different this year, so we will see how that goes. I want to meet Donovan Ricketts, so I am going to try and go to the room he is in.
Ricketts was really funny when he was signing with Klein a few months back. I asked him if there was much difference compared with Bradford.... I made him laugh
You can meet Donovan or Beckham, you just have to get in their line early...but they're doing it different this year with wristbands so who knows.
I will be there. Should be fun. Never been to one, so it should be interesting. Hopefully see you guys there. God bless.
My strategy is hopefully get one of their wristbands, if not, proceed to one of their lines after I finish my first line. At the urging of most of my family (die hard Becks fans since Man U) it looks like I have to try and see Becks.
I might be going, depends on work. Is it too lateto submit questions. Because my question is simple. If the goal of the team is to win the MLS cup, why has the Galaxy F.O. scheduled a trip out of the country for the day after the MLS Cup? Have we already given up on the cup?
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS: Team Training, 5-6 p.m. (Soccer Stadium): Galaxy players will train on the main stadium field. Please sit in Sections 107-109 on the west side of the stadium. Head Coach Bruce Arena will answer pre-submitted questions from fans during the training session; please submit any questions along with your RSVP. Food and Music, 6-6:45 (Main Concourse): Enjoy complimentary food and soft drinks, as well as entertainment. Meet-and-Greet/Autographs* with Galaxy Players, 6:45-8:00 (various locations around the main concourse): Galaxy players will meet with and sign autographs for fans. When you enter the stadium, you will receive one of several color wristbands. Each wristband color corresponds to a different autograph station; wristbands will be assigned randomly. You are guaranteed to receive autographs from all the players at the station corresponding to your wristband color as long as you are in line at that station by 7 p.m. After you receive the autographs from your designated station, you are free to visit other autograph stations, but we cannot guarantee autographs from players at stations for which you do not have a wristband.
Overall, good event. Watching the workout narrated by Bruce was fun. The guys ham'd it up for the crowd. Got most of the signatures I wanted, but once again the lines for getting to see Landon / Becks were a fustercluck. Essentially if you were not lucky enough to draw the Becks wristband, they wouldn't even let you in line. The guys I did see though were very nice: To Greg Berhalter: Greg, I want to see you win the Riot Squad player of the year. Donovan's ahead in the voting so you have to bring them beer before the San Jose game. Greg: That would be a great honor. Me: No really, they give you a trophy in the shape of a keg. Greg: I know, I like kegs. To Alecko Eskandarian: We miss you and are sorry to hear it was more than a bloody nose. Alecko: Yeah... it's a bit more serious than that. Me: Sorry to hear that, you're a lot more fun to watch now than when you were on the Chivas Alecko: It's a lot more fun playing here. Bryan Jordan laughed when I told him his female fan club was going to be bigger than Beckhams.
HAHAHA. Cute! It was a pretty fun event. I got about 15 autographs. I didnt go or attempt Landon's or Beckham's room. I got Donovan Ricketts autograph so that made me really really happy and he was in the same room as Bryan Jordan, so that was a plus. Alecko is super duper nice and cute. Im glad I met him. I barely made it into Todd Dunivant, AJ, and Tony's room. There was about a minute or two left for them to sign autographs. I loved that there was free food. I kept going back. But yea, it was a fun time. I got to meet the players that I wanted to meet.
THen you got in ahead of me. I was hoping to get their autographs. But they closed. I was lucky though. I got the red bracelet which meant I got to see Donovan, Saunders, and Franklin. Cool guys. For the most part I got to get the sigs I wanted. But next time I got to get AJ's and Omar's sigs. But all in all, fun night.
Good time. The wife made a decent call picking the orange band which meant we got the Beckham/Gordo/Bowen room out of the way quick. The Donovan/Franklin/Saunders room took the longest. We stuck around even after they claimed they werent going to take anyone without a red wristband and still got in. Eddie/Julian/Chris B./Griffen/Tony/AJ/Todd rounded out the rest of our autographs. We were shut out of the Ricketts room with just a handful of people ahead of us.. :-/ This was our first STH event and had a blast. Good times.
There was 50% off at the shops. Free hot dogs, fries, peanuts, popcorn, soda Despite the "B" I ate at the goalies grill. Bruce was in a good mood when he spoke and Landon called San Jose "the smurfs" when he spoke.
Wasn't lucky enough to get a red or orange bracelet, so I missed Donovan and Becks (and turns out Gordon was with Becks, man was I sad, I had a birthday card for Gordon), but I still had a good time. The silver room by far had the best vibe, that was the one with Buddle and Alecko. I felt really rushed when I went to Klein's room, he just kind of tossed my jersey to the next guy and didn't look at me. I think they'd do well to extend this event another hour. I like the 50% discount, got a new long sleeve jersey for way cheap! Didn't get to take advantage of the free food. Funny moment of the night: When AJ was signing my jersey, Tony leans over and is like "Dude, are you writing your autobiography?" Because AJ was being slow and careful about his signature haha.
Really? I had the neon green wrist band, and I was the second person in line and Dema and Chris were super cool. They both asked me how I was and looked up. Maybe because it was the beginning of the signing though. That sucks that Alan was in Becks room. I would have loved to meet him again too. He was nice last year. I wish I would have taken advantage of the 50% discount. Darn! I guess I cared more about the free food.
Klein's room was the last one I went to and it was like 7:50 when I went through, that might have been why they rushed. Dema was super cool to me though. I almost didn't get the 50% discount, we didn't go until after 8pm!
i got to the neon green room @ around 7:30pm. chris was super cool, he actually posed for a picture with me. but yeah, the FO ppl were kinda like, "no no no, slide over, slide over." (understandable, though. i can't believe i got away with that). and yeah, dema was awesome too. and so was todd (different room). thanks to geneva for her extra ticket! my friend who has never been to a soccer match had an awesome time, and i think i persuaded her to come to some games next season.
