Hi, I'm just wondering how Steve Purdy has performed for the team thus far this season and if he has a chance to make it with the team when they move to MLS? Thanks.
He's been kind of inconsistent. He saved our asses a couple time, but would get caught out of position a lot in his last appearance and kind of frustrated some folks. I like the guy and wish we'd see him more, but he hasn't started in a couple matches. We'll see.
I wonder if he's hurt, because if he's not, I'm highly doubting he'll make the move up. He isn't even playing.
Purdy has been playing a lot lately and has been impressive. He seemed to struggle early in the season, but now there is a small glimmer of chance he could make the move up. One note, in Portland's thrashing of Baltimore 3 nil, Purdy had a sitter that he volleyed over the goal. It would have been a great moment for him, instead he fell dead on the pitch, in that moment of agony we all have felt at one time or another.
Good to hear. He's been expressing his desire recently that he would like to play for our National team...so the better news I keep noticing, the more I'd like to see him suit up in blue soon.
