He did have surgery, but he's their leading scorer at the moment, with 10 goals. Of course, it's the SPL, but he is a proven scorer. I was just throwing quasi-realistic names out there.

Why not type in a normal font instead of trying to draw attention to yourself?

Anyway, Shearingham is like 38, and nearing the end of the line. I'm not sure I'd want him, but we aren't talking Shearingham circa 1990 when he netted 33 goals with Millwall or anything. Of course, you knew that, and decided to be a tool anyway. Curious.

The other guys you mentioned are in thier prime, or close to it. Teddy is pretty past that, but might still be able to play a shorter season (fewer league games, cup games, etc) in MLS and be effective. Or maybe not.

Regardless of who the MetroStars get this year, is it possible to sign them before training camp begins? Regardless of whether it's Bradley, Nick or Stillitano signing the players, it seems like the Metros are always the only team that has trouble getting these guys in time for pre-season training to give them time to get acclimated to the style of play in MLS.

It seems like ages ago, but the starting forwards in the season operner were Wolyniec and Magee. Would I be correct that even LA was able to get Herzog and Kirovski in time for the preseason?

Why is everyone so sure Galvan Rey is gone? Bradley was loyal to him until the very last second. Remember, he elected to dress him over Taylor in that infamous last match which reminded me of the scene in the Titanic movie where the violin players are about to look for a lifeboat, but instead elect to continue playing (and just like the Metros, horribly) and go down with the ship.

I don't see how picking up Macca is of any benifit to the club. If it was Macca from the Liverpool days then yeah but this guy was let go from Real for nothing and has only played a fistful of minutes at Citeh over the past 2 seasons.

We have 3 young and very talented midfielders that I would rather start than Macca: Magee, Gaven and Clark. I supose if Amado leaves we could use him for some vetern leadership in the midfield but only if Amado leaves.

For some reason I just am not excited about this potential rumored signing. Hell why don't we sign Robbie Fowler while we are at it and become the once great English football old age retirement community.

And what, Williams is that player? No freaking way. The guy sits farther upfield than the forwards do. Just because he had some good matches for Chicago, doesn't make him a player I'd want to build a team around. A complimentary player? Yea sure. But not as the core of the team.

Because a player like Ronaldo would double the league's salary...no one would be talking about which Euro player is the "least washed up" if we could get someone good.

I'd love to see someone like Gary Speed, but I have little doubt he'll end his career in the EPL (#1 in minutes in EPL history).

there also former Russian star, Aleksandr Mostovoj available, but i dont think we can beat the offer he got from some team in Qatar that willing to pay $1.2mil. for half a year

I watched yesterday Manchester derby and Macca wasn't half that bad. He saved a goal off the line and missed a great scoring chance.

The guy is only 32 and he had some injuries that slowed him down recently and effected his performances. He is a midfielder and our Metro is ok in midfield if we are to keep the players we have. Only way i would take Macca is if he could play defensive Midfielder role and if we can afford him.

Our immidiate needs are for an experienced defender, and an experienced forward who can score goals and has the hunger for it.

Our coaching staff should really consider playing 3-5-2 and using the outside midfielders as wingers when we have the ball. This two players would be doing a lot of running, they need to have good speed AND crossing ability for our forwards.

If Steve can be signed for no transfer fee and the league max salary on just a one-year deal, I think he could be one of the best signings of the year. People can say he's past it all they want, but Steve has NOT been overworked over the last five years, and probably has younger legs than the average 32 year-old. His problem has been that he's been less effective than City's other midfielders, not that he's suddenly old.

The possibility that he comes over here and plays inspired ball, having the chance at 90 minutes a game for the first time in years, is very real.

Also, he's as much or more of a wing player as anyone we've had, and should be able to handle the center of the field in MLS as well. Could be a great signing.

Of course, that doesn't mean he's a BETTER option than a ton of other players we could sign.

We may need some wing play. But if anyone noticed, we need a midfield destroyer. Guevara did the job as best he could, and Clark has shown flashes, but it still was not convincing.

Clark might be as good a midfield destroyer as any other YOUNG player in the league. He needs to get better, but given his combination of upside, being relatively inexpensive, and already being on the team, I think there are other places we should improve first, including the always-popular striker (every team ever wants another), and in this case specifically, a wide fullback and good wide midfielders.

I heard this before the English season started and nothing came of it. I think it would be good for the Metros; but, I think it unlikely Macca would make the move.
