I'm almost exactly between them in age (slightly closer to Cuoco, actually) and I'd pick Jen every day of the week.
https://prosoccerwire.usatoday.com/2023/01/06/taylor-twellman-announces-hes-leaving-espn/ Taylor Twellman is leaving ESPN. (Probably for Apple. It wouldn't be surprising.)
Bernie Kosar was fired by the Browns today for betting on football. Specifically, he was supposedly the first person to place a legal. bet in Ohio, a 19k wager on the Browns with Tipico.
Based on social media reaction, I think more Clevelanders are pissed off about Bernie's firing than today's loss.
Pete Rose was in on the competition for first bet in Ohio placing a bet on the Reds to win the World Series. Which is a waste of whatever he bet. https://www.nbcsports.com/philadelp...while-making-ohios-first-legal-sports-bet?amp
And we have the Beat Damn Marching Band in all the Land!” “And we have the Crew, which is the best damn soccer team in all of Columbus!” “And we have the Hell is Real sign, which is the perfect reminder that you’re on the right road to Cincinnati!”
An interesting question. They do their "pirate tailgate" at the triangle lot and you've probably heard of them if you're asking. It seems like a bunch of people were bitter/upset/whatever about the Nordecke not being able to have a MegaTailgate in the lot...then the situation with Grandview being what that became. So yeah, they do a tailgate. How? That's anyone's guess. Apparently tailgates aren't as off-limits in the Arena District as we all thought or maybe Black Flag is on borrowed time. I spoke to one of their members last season and it sounded like "Nordecke people messed it up." (Basically their words.) May they be slightly annoying the way they seem to constantly self-promote on Nordecke pages? YMMV.
What?!?!? Why?!? I hadn't heard about him getting canned. Was he? Yeah, Canada didn't make it out of their group, and that would get a lot of NT managers fired, but he's really turned Canada's MNT program around. I'd think Canada House (Hoose?) would want to keep him, and I'd think he'd want to stick around to see more of the fruits of his labor (or labour).
Not fired, which makes the NZ news surprising. Of course, before he coached Canadaian mens and womens teams, he coached the NZ womens team. His son plays for Vancouver 2, and has played for both the Canadian and New Zealand u20 national teams (currently plays for NZ). Apparently he was also the second lowest paid coach at the WC ($700,000/year). For context, I think GB made $1.3 or $1.4 million/year. I could see how this makes sense, but I agree that it’s sort of surprising. CSA is a total shit show though, just to match the incompetence of USSF and FMF I guess. Hockey Canada (Canadian hockey federation) is an even bigger shit show, paying off multiple gang rape victims with youth hockey registration fees to keep them quiet (literally). Canadian sports administration is a dumpster fire right now, maybe that has something to do with it.
One of the people in charge is Donnie Marcum, not sure if he is on here or not but he's active on the Facebook groups, he's someone I've been friends with since I first got season tickets back in 2006. He's good people.
Herdman is staying with Canada. It seems the original NZ source either got a little excited and exaggerated what was actually happening or the broadcaster didn’t fact check (or both). Apparently an intermediary put a hypothetical proposal to Herdman’s camp, but that was really it.
Yes it does, but in this case not all that much. Herdman is the real deal. He performed miracles with the women, has pushed the men to their highest ranking ever (by a mile) and the Canadian fed knows good and well that his agent can pick up the phone and get a dozen solid offers by noon. If he got an offer from NZ nobody could be surprised. It will take a lot more than what NZ can afford to pay to pry him out of America's Hat. Canada isn't about to see him leave over money to a minnow like NZ. Maybe if England came calling and opened the vaults, sure. But the Kiwis? No way.
I notice nobody’s paying much mind to the whole “it’s a bad idea for a national team coach to go for more than one cycle” principle when it comes to this guy. Just saying.
