Agreed. I suspect AEG will run the team in 2005 while it works with SSV to resolve local ownership and stadium issues. Great news.

I'm ready to buy my season tickets! Even if the team's not going to a new owner, we're making good on our increased season ticket pledge.

I used to be on the media release email list, several email accounts ago. I think if you signed up for emails from the Clash in the first season, you received these emails...

And SSV, amazing job! Thank you!

Definitely big thanks to SSV, as well as to the person who ignited The Resistance in the first place - Johnny Moore. :D

The waiting is over: press release from the Quakes:

I am looking forward to another season at Spartan Stadium. That "Earthquakes 10th Season Anniversary DVD" sounds pretty cool too.

As Alexi was going to make "several announcements", this is probably not all :)

Thank you for the great news!
It's time to fulfill the pledge now.

Excellent news! Thank you, SSV and AEG.

Any clue if there will be group (e.g. Club Quake) discounts this year?

    Yes! :D

Also, I had previously forgotten to give big thanks to the San Jose Mercury News' Dylan Hernandez, who on his own initiative first made public both what Club America's plans for the Quakes were (after an impromptu interview with their president after a CA exhibition game at Spartan back in January) and Don Garber's not-quite-a-denial response to said plans immediately afterward. :)

    GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!!

    Re: Status of Contraction/Move/Stay/Sale Whatever

Contract extensions through 2005 for Dom and JD.

I realize this may not be popular with everyone here but I think the potential move was really hurting team spirit this year. If we can get the sale done in the off season and take more steps towards getting a stadium deal, I think the team's performance will improve greatly.

    WE BELIEVE!
    NEVER GIVE UP!

Good job fans!!!! You all played such a big part in this.

2005 will be a magical year. It's something that we as fans have earned.

Keep the pressure up, keep believing, and never give up. There is much work to be done. But, right now the most important thing is to get those season tickets, and make good on your pledges. Talk to your friends, co-workers, and everybody else who will listen about buying season tickets.

This is just the beginning gang! It's going to be a fun ride :D

Yeeee-Haaawwww!! I just had the nerve to get online and go to the Quakes' website and what do I see? Quakes staying in 2005!!!

I let out a yell and I'm still grinning from ear to ear! Plus, they've kept the coaching staff. Looks like they're gonna make a go of it.

Finally we get some GOOD news!!

THANK YOU SSV FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK! YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!

BTW, this news coincides with the one year anniversary of the Quakes' miraculous comeback against LA -- November 9, 2003.

Methinks Don has a good idea for a new local holiday -- November 9, Quakes Day.

So now that all of that is taken care of, when do we get to know which players will stay or go?
