I read the posts in another thread around Illinois claiming that Chicago Magic is able to get anything they want from the Illinois State Association while other clubs do not. I do not know if this is true or not but would like to ask if there are other state associations out there where it appears a famous club gets preferential treatment?
Strange but true to some extent. I am from a small club in SC. Created a winning team over 3-4yrs. Parents got big heads and thought i was not needed anymore even after winning the state cup a month ago. They have their selfish agenda. This is just a small unit of the whole "system" but it does magnify to something bigger at higher levels. I do not agree with all the happenings but my club thinks that i should switch teams even after an approx. 200 W 15L and not more than 6 ties over a period of 3 yrs. But there are other interests involved here so sometimes it is a solace to know that some strange things do happen though we do not agree with them. It doesn't happen everywhere though
I think at one time the Colorado Rush was very much involved with what went on in that state. Perhaps that has changed, but having read things in other forums, I got the impression that the Rush and Colorado Youth Soccer Association were practically one and the same. More astounding, no one seem to be complaining. I'm not sure how that ties into the original topic, but it might be a good thing to change coaches periodically regardless of their record.
guess it is the political aspect of it all - was trying to understand it in the light of politics in soccer and certain indivduals agenda's vs goals and objectives of others involved. i am gald the change was made even though i had just one more year to reach the original goal i had for the team. was just trying to relate the political aspect
It has not changed. Complaining doesn't do any good if your complaint goes to the same interrelated group you have a complaint about. (Some) people who work for CSYSA (state association) have ties and history with Rush. I have not seen any evidence that Colorado Rush is favored because of this, but I personally would not want to have to find out the outcome if I came in, representing teeny tiny neighborhood club vs. multi-state, deep pockets, well-connected soccer club. So, I try not to complain.
Thats pretty lethargic, I think "best" would be to get involved and do what you can to make things better. I hear people complain about that politician thats doing a lousy job ,but then tell you they never vote !
