    heres my best (hahahahahaha) guess:

    Rimando
    Mulrooney Agoos Petke Vanney
    Olsen Stewart Convey Lewis
    Donovan Kirovski

the problem i see here is that it leaves arena without his beloved d-mid player

    so maybe its:

    Rimando
    Agoos Petke Vanney Convey
    Olsen Donovan Mulrooney Lewis
    Ching Kirovski

does anyone thing reyna will actually play?

I doubt Reyna will play. But there is no doubt that this is far and away the weakest lineup for the Nats this year.

The roster left me in such utter shock that I can't possibly comment on the starting lineup.

No Reyna will not play, he is just in camp to train after having so much time off because of injury. He is trying to regain form for a possible return for the Confed Cup.

I will post what I posted in the News and Analysis form.

    With Reyna out

    We get:

    GK: Cannon
    D: Suarez on the right
Agoos and Brown/Petke (probably Brown) in the center
    Vanney on the left

In MF: Mulrooney at D-mid, Convey at a-mid, Olsen on the right, Lewis on the left

    F: Donovan and ?

? is probably Kirovski, I would rather see Ching or Quaranta or Stewart

The things that are great about this friendly....

    1. Ryan Suarez will probably get his first cap.
    2. BA will get to touch base with some Euros and evaluate them (Vanney, Lewis, Cannon, Kirovski). In particular, we get to see both Lewis and Vanney who should have improved after succesful Euro tours and when we saw them last.
    3. Convey should get the keys to the MF. Can he provide some possession when we don't have our Reyna or O'Brien possession players in there. I think he can, but it will be interesting to see.
    4. Mulrooney gets a look at midfield. Everytime I have seen him play he plays hard, and he has good skills. I think he gets a chance to make the d-mid position a three horse race if he can put in a spectacular performance.
    5. Two additional young options at Forward might get a look, just to see what they are about. Sure they aren't great, but it never hurts to get there first caps (ching and q)
    6. Finally we bring back two fringe center backs (Petke and Brown) who don't have much of a shot of unseating Pope, Bocanegra or Berhalter as 1, 2, and 3, to see if they can edge out a Danny Califf, or a Nick Garcia for the lower portion of the depth chart.
    7. Send off game for Agoos. Adios.

This is why I am looking forward to this game, and aren't so down and depressed about it as you guys. Wales is bringing there C team, so should we.

Arena definitely want to see Corrales play in left back... I won't be surprise if he starts over there... but with Vanney called up, I doubt he would start.

Did I miss something? Quaranta isn't on the roster. I doubt you will see Ching and Kirvoski out there together. It would probably be Landon and Kirvoski out there in the 1st half with Esky and Ching coming on in the second.

in the past, there have always been arguments as to what actually constitutes a "B" team- i think we can all agree here...

We used to be a 4-4-2 team earlier in Bruce's tenure. Against MExico in WC, and this yer, we often have been more of a 3-5-2. Arena likes to talk about getting teh best players on the field, and so maybe the flexibility around the formation reflects that.

Looking at this roster, and Arena's preferences- outside backs who push up, a target forward, a strong d-midfielder, a midfielder/forward who can roam, I will suggest this roster:

    Rimando (Cannon in 2nd)

Convey (last try) Agoos Petke Vanney

    Stewart Mulrooney Donovan Lewis

    Ching/Esky(each a half) Kirovski

Ok, that is my two cents, probbaly worth even less.

Please, no Rimando. Play Cannon instead.

I expect that Cannon will start at GK (Rimando has been piss-poor of late). Vanney will start on the left and will take free kicks (Corrales may substitute, he played LB during most of his U-23 and younger years). Petke and Agoos will be CB's.
I guess with Suarez added to the squad as a last gesture (and finalizing the guy's future with Uruguay), Suarez will start at RB.
Mulrooney is a a given at DM (he's played there before for the Nats). Lewis will start at LM, and
Stewart or Olsen at RM, Stewart or Convey at AM.
Forwards will be Donovan and Kirovski/Stewart depending upon how they look/show at mini-camp. Expect Arena to use 3-5 substitutes.

I love the USMNT too, where are they?

Sorry, just pissed I'm spending a grand to go watch a couple B/C teams play since the USMNT won't play in the Midwest, and it all goes to SH!T. I coulda driven down to KC or over to Chicago to watch DC or the Quakes play when they're in town.

Too much pouting. You really find a reason to complain about a roster that could produce this configuration?

    ---------Kirovski-----Donovan-----------

    -Lewis----------Convey---------Stewart-

    ---------Mulrooney-----Vanney----------

    ----Suarez--------Agoos------Brown----

    ----------------Cannon------------------

    The 248
    Rimando
    Vanney Agoos Petke Convey
    Olson Mulrooney Stewart Lewis
    Donvoan Kirovski

Doesn't really matter though as all except Reyna will play.

Agoos is the capt, as this is his last international.

Does Donvoan get to wear #10 with Reyna in camp?

1-0 Wales. Agoos' man scores on a restart or he puts one in our onion bag himself, for old times sake.

With this group of players Kirovski will be one of the better ones. This is what I would like to see.

    ---------------Donovan----Ching
    --------------------Kirovski

    Lewis----------Convey---Mulrooney------Olsen
    ----------Vanney-----Petke----Brown

    ---------------------Cannon

Agoos makes me the most nervous because of his lack of pace. Bruce with probably go with 4-4-2 anyway......

Agoos can't play in a 3 back system. He is too small and too short. He would be ok in a 4-4-2. Kirovski is better than Agoos.

I also wouldn't mind seeing Corrales in the middle for either DCMs. He adds more strength and height.

1- sanneh is a wide back, he's not in this group - besides hes injured

2- regis is so far gone from the US side, he makes agoos seem like freddy - quoth austin powers "i mean, really!" - if you have no doubt hell be in the CC squad (much less lineup), ive got a wager for ya
    ............cannon

Sanneh should be ready for the CONFED's CUP. Even if he is 80% he is better than most. He is one of the back 4 when the US plays a 4-4-2 or 4-3-3.

Regis is not even gone. Um, didn't he just finish up with his French club Troyes?

Regis is fast and experienced and he did a great job last summer during the World Cup. He will play in the Confederations Cup.
