And if we plan on averaging one game every four days, then we can't have only three quality central mids. Because Zenden can play pretty much anywhere in the midfield, and is a good stop-gap in case one of our starters is injured. And again, Kewell is a **********. It takes more than 11 players to compete in the league, or any competition. There will be no set starting 11 this season. Rafa is building a squad where many players are capable of playing at the highest level. Everyone will have to earn their place in the team.

Actually though, if you consider the shifting sands nature of this flexible squad, you can see with the multi-functional parts that no given 11 presents itself as clearly better than all others.
