d=bocanegra,pope,hejduk m=beasley,mastroeni,o'brien,convey,stewart f=mcbride,donovan g=keller any better lineups or formation?
Klein will start before Convey. Its hard to say who will start because we brought in guys from Europe. I'd think when we do this the guys from Europe will get first dibs on starting since we did fly them all the way over.
I don't think the US Nats will play with any less than 4 Defenders in a friendly. As Bruce has pointed out before, Defenders is where the Nats really lack. He wants to find the best he can so he's going to play four just for the sake of determining who the better players are. Could be wrong, but I think games like these are more for scouting than results. My lineup.... (purely exploratory!!!) Defense: Test out the waters. RB: Nick Garcia CRB: Steve Cherundulo CLB: Carlos Bocanegra LB: Frankie Hejduk Midfield: Not sure which sides to put my Right and Left on, but I know I want those two. LM: Chris Klein CM: John O'Brien RM: Bobby Convey Forwards: CF plays a withdrawn position, its technically a 1-2 Forward. CF: Jovan Kirovski LS: Edson Buddle RS: Landon Donovan So there's my 4-3-1-2. Oh, and Keller is defending homebase for us. We need a serious playmaker for World Cup 2006 and as much as we don't want it to be, Reyna will probably be out of commision. O'Brien needs to get his legs in the center of the pitch and I think if he gets transferred to a club that will play him there, he'll become an amazing playmaker. Now if I just wanted to win... RB: Steve Cherundulo CB: Carlos Bocanegra LB: Eddie Pope RDM: Pablo Mastroeni LDM: Frankie Hejduk RM: Earnie Stewart LM: Chris Klein CM: John O'Brien RF: Jovan Kirovski LF: Brian McBride (YEAH! I picked Kirovski over Donovan so bite me! I think that this game would be a control game and that Donovan's speed wouldn't be needed. Jovan would do better in the box.)
