http://www.cartoonnetwork.com/clonewars/index.html http://www.starwars.com/eu/news/2003/02/news20030220.html There does seem to be hope that this won't be another Lucas debacle. From what I understand, Lucas has ceded most of the creative control to Tartakovsky and his team of producers. I like Samurai Jack (never seen Dexter's Laboratory), so hopefully, this will be worth watching. The series will fill in the gap between Episodes II and III.
1)handled by someone close to Samurai Jack 2)little to no involvement from Lucas 3)It's STAR WARS! it will be great!!
I meant to tape the first episode, but decided not to after discovering the damn thing was only five minutes long. Disappointing.
I agree that it's disappointing that they are only 5 minutes long, which was one of the reasons I wasn't happy when they made the announcement about the series to begin with. The length has hardly been a secret to anybody who has been following the developments of the series though, so I'm not THAT bothered by it anymore. Although I can understand most people's reactions, as I was there when I first heard, etc. Anyways, they are so short, it's hard to judge them. I may wait a few weeks and then watch 3 or 4 of them in a row to get some semblance of how I like them. So far, it's basically been an animated interpretation of the last ground battle of Attack of the Clones - nothing more, nothing less. Did like Palpatine though....
The first three chapters have been pretty good, IMO, with Chapter 3, the one that just aired, being the best so far.
First ten chapters are done. Cartoon Network showed all of them last night in sequence. When viewed like this, they're really good. They have a gritty, brutal quality to them that Lucas's films do not have. Great characters and animation. The next ten chapters are due out in the spring.
