Every Arsenal fan needs to watch this. pic.twitter.com/litmAZ2Vbf— now.arsenal (@now_arsenaI) May 20, 2026
While I agree with this sentiment 100,000%, and there is no doubt in my mind Kai Havertz will play in the final, part of me is thinking whether Mikel trusts Viktor to start against PSG based on the shift he put in against Atletico in the Semifinal.
Baseball is dead to me lol But I take it back when cubs won - most of city went nuts when bears beat the packers in playoffs - we were all crying
when the Lakers win in LA its crazy but Arsenal doesn’t need to set cars on fire to have equal passion, this is much better
Downtown Chicago after the Cubs win was as crowded as any place I've ever been, and that includes Hajj.
I don't have any pro sports celebration experience. Best I can offer is celebrating UNC basketball wins over dook (I can't even bring myself to spell it) on Franklin Street. Go Heels.
I suspect most gooners would be thrilled with a messy scrappy goalmouth game winner, or an OG. Whatever it takes. Sure an open goal would be nice, but perhaps more fitting would be some argybargy in the 6-box, that the UEFA refs turn a blind eye to, and which allows an Olympico from Declan or Bukayo.
It's so so great to see all of the old-timers come back "home" to BigSoccer this week. Feel free to stick around... ya never know, we might be in the midst of a little dynasty. I too was at Sunderland a few months back, thanks to a good-friend-generous-STH. I too have been getting over every few years. But the past 2-3 years I think I've made it over every season... I've had the odd sense that something was up! Having family in (North) London would be icing on the cake, but can't match you there. Might got you beat on first time live at Highbury though... mine was 1974, standing in the old terraces... hmm, what were they called?
I thought you already did that! Seriously, I hear you about the league. It's the one I really wanted most. It's the harder, more impressive of the two IMO. However, we've never won old big ears and when we do that's gonna be huge! And if we manage to do it this month, OMG that would be a spectacular double, rivaling any season's achievement perhaps. Regardless of whether it was defense-wins-you-titles as Fergie used to say I think.
Parade Sunday 5/31, day after UCL Final. Will be epic. Maybe double epic. God I wish I were there. https://www.arsenal.com/index.php/news/premier-league-title-parade-confirmed
Why did it take us so long? Well, that's open to a lot of speculation. Since 2004, our two biggest chances were 2005, 2008 and 2016. I knew a guy who was an Arsenal youth scout and coach and he said we financed the stadium inhouse and were basically broke for several of those years after the stadium was built. We had a strict budget for the squad and Wenger wanted more money, he'd have to sell players. Lastly, Wenger was no longer capable to get results. Legendary manager but like in so many sports, stayed too long.
If we lost the title, I don't think Arteta's job was ever in jeopardy. My guess is Josh is smart enough to know that any new manager would have a new strategy and need 2-3 years to rebuild in his mode. Eventually we'd win it, if not this year the next but at some point. 2nd for 3 straight years is a lot of consistency. Especially given the fact, we didn't lose by a lot of points. If it was one of those years the winner got 90 points and we had 79, then okay, but we were fairly close each time.
