I've been posting here since 2006 We have come close so.many times It's such a strange feeling, been so apathetic towards football but to win this made me.genuinly feel sick with nerves and now releif What a release! All the shit from dickhead fans blah blah blah for the last 20 years Arteta is now a legend, idgaf how we played to win this. If we win our first European cup then he will go down as an all time great All those years of Wenger (I was as frustrated as alot of fans) had to endure and his legacy of making us relevent lead to this, I hope he is there to celebrate I've been following since 97 and this is probably going to be the most memorable. Alot of our formative years into becoming proper adults and having families has been this shitty baron spell to coincide Such a mad feeling! Oh to be a gooner
That just put perhaps the biggest smile on my face from today. And does Stuart McFarlane ever get to celebrate himself??
Fell in love with the club in 2010. Lurker here since 2011. First post in 2013. Never looked back, you guys make this title all the more special. 1 more to play for.
Was lurking throughout the later part of the season, but I get very superstitious and did NOT want to jinx anything as the weeks clicked by. Shared a very expletive-laden text with some friends after the Bournemouth loss (not because of who it was against but how it went down) and at the time truly thought the title had been lost. Rarely have I been so happy to be proven wrong. As someone pointed out, since the loss to Citeh Arsenal took 12 pts from 12 without giving up a goal. The style of play may not have been pretty at times, but when your play brings silverware at the end you let those shiny objects do the talking. Kudos to Raya, Rice, Gabriel, and all the lads for sticking with it. Kudos to the team and Arteta for sticking with it. Kudos to the fans for sticking with it. Come Sunday, we can all celebrate something duly earned by the team with a little support from all the fans! Well done, Arsenal. Well done, indeed.
Been a fan since the first post-Highbury season in 06-07. Haven't been on here as long as some others but it still been nearly a decade. Love seeing old faces/avatars.
I started watching soccer in the early 90s and in my small south TX town for some reason the dutch league was all I could get on TV. I fell in love with Ajax and Dennis Bergkamp. Ended up following Dennis to Arsenal when we started getting EPL on TV a few years later and decided to stick around. Now Arsenal is hands down my favorite team. Think this is the first time in 25ish yrs that a team I follow (in any sport) has won a championship. Very strange feeling. I've started grooming my 12yo into an Arsenal fan. I am working on a spring break trip as a gift for when he earns his Eagle Scout. Plan to spend the week in England watching as many games as we can with the goal of starting & ending the trip with Arsenal matches.
What changed this season? A bench. Maybe City is as deep but I can't imagine so. Happy for players for various reasons Anyway, very happy for Eze because he was a lifelong fan and in his first season and going to a CL final. Very happy for Rice as the title makes him have no regrets for coming to us and winning the league Very happy for Saliba for going from being loaned out immediately (I was against that) to champion Very happy for Gabriel for having his passion reward. Very happy for Trossard, Norgaard, Gyokeres, for making their move worth it. Very happy for Arteta, nothing like managing the club you love and winning it. Wish he had been there in '04 Very happy for Ian Wright and Henry who are pundits with passion Happy for Robbie and the AFTV crowd Very happy for MLS, Dowman (will he get a winners medal?) and Saka, nothing like coming through the ranks as a kid and you day dream about lifting it for your club as a 12, 13 year old in your mind but to experience it is another thing. Very happy for Jesus to lift it after leaving City Feel badly for Nwaneri and Kiwior out on loan and couldn't experience it. Feel badly for Partey, Zenchenko, Tierney, Rob Holding, Partey, Jorginho, Nketiah, Willock, Smith Rowe, Reiss Nelson, Ramsdale who helped get us here, played a part in the last 5 years
So as one of the last of the old guard, I'm nearly choking up. Here's to you @HomeatHighbury and Jeff L, and Tel, and Fred, and Judy and Mikey and Steph.
My first post here was about Alex Song iirc. I got skewered for it. I still like him and I don't care about what you think. Best day in a long time, brings tears to my eyes.
I really didn’t expect to be this happy about this win. I just wish I were closer to other real fans to properly celebrate. Oh well, my nephew and I will celebrate by ourselves, and my wife is pretending to be happy, but really she just wants to remind me that she bought me tix to the opening home game of our title winning season to get cool points. It’s her birthday today, and we are going out for dinner, but jokes on her because I am going to wear my Arsenal jersey! She has to share the day.
