It is on its way to grossing $100 million??? or The damaged knee kept her from playing for England against France in the qualifying tournament for a spot in the World Cup. France won in a game that was sparsely attended.
$100 million may be optimistic but I was thinking more of the "sparsely attended" part. 20,000 in France is not bad.
I think the article as referring to the England-France part... although I recollect a more than decent crowd for the England home match... still Hochman does give a good portrayal of the movie and Kelly Smith... Sounds like he visited her in Chestnut Hill at home... The more articles like this the better... I complained to Bob Ford about his Mia piece.. He said it was what his editor wanted... at least Hochman has the BULLOCKS to write a good piece... damn the editor... it's the kelly smiths of the world who'll cause wusa to survive... it's all about the new stars... not the old ones cashing in...
bang the publicity drum! harder! do it again! take it to dillworth plaza! bang it again! take it to university city! repeat! go somewhere else and repeat!
Please, PLEASE, send a thank-you e-mail to Stan Hochman for his article on Kelly Smith and "Bend It...." It may only encourage more soccer-related articles by truly respected writers like Stan.
http://www.philly.com/mld/inquirer/sports/5907088.htm another soccer article in the Inquirer.... an Adu is indeed magical.... I've seen the bootleg tapes of him in Guatemala. The only other name who describes his skills is Pele. Adu can do it all.... how many people who try a bicycle kick outside the box, and force the keeper to make a nice save... now that's thinking outside the box. norcaf does raise a good point send e-mails to Stan here's his address...
