    Ha!

*realising how sad he is to have gotten that joke, but he went to a Jesuit school*

*now realising that if the joke were verbal, it would have been over his head completely*

Think you can get this level of erudition on the Trib's ChicagoSports.com Bears forum??

Course, I'm not sure that's a good thing. God there's a lot of education going to seed here.

I'm new here, but i think i need to post my two cents.

I've been a Fire fan ever since they came about. I've only started going to games this season, though, because it's tough getting to chicago (seeing as i was 10 or 11 when the team started). so, the fire coming to naperville was great for me. CS is pretty close to my house, so it's very easy for me to go to every home game and support one of my favorite teams.

i know the field sucks pretty bad, i know that a lot of people arent happy with section 8 in general, but that's naperville. people complain a lot. everything has to be about "families". which i hate.

and now, thanks to the fire being so close, i've been to almost every home game this season, i plan on buying season tickets next year, and i also plan on going to as many games as i can afford when fire goes back to SF.

i guess what i'm trying to say is...hate the stadium all you want, just stop hating my hometown.

I've been a Fire season ticket holder since the beginning and have made all but five home games in five years (all at Soldier Field and all were Fire wins). I realize that Cardinal Stadium is not the best stadium in MLS, but it was the best we could come up with after Duschessois (sp?) scuttled the AP deal. Besdies, Naperville has welcomed us with open arms and we are filling the place.

Besides, it cannot be any worse than what the Sting played on during their day (ie Comiskey, Wrigley, and the old turf at SF). Also, we've played on worse fields in MLS (ex. Ohio Stadium, old turf at Meadowlands, and Foxboro when Patriots started play). If any of you can come up with some open land in the city or up in the NW suburbs where the Fire can build their own field, then by all means tell me. Therefore, your complaints about Cardinal Stadium do not earn my sympathy.

    when in Warszawa...

If they do it in Europe, we do it here. That's the rule. It's a good rule :)

    cheers!

...but we'll never copy the French!

    cheers, keb!

seriously though, I do like alot of how they do things in Europe. There's alot of cool traditions and songs and whatnot. Europe's definately shown by example. If its a good idea or fun or whatever there's no problem with carrying on, y'know? But I definately get the other side's point...copying for copying's sake isn't too swift.
it's great to be developing our own style too!

  16. Malort is distilled? No! Like grapes are pressed into wine, Malort is pressed from evil souls.

I believe Malort is actually leached. Or is it leeched?

Oh, come now, you all know that Malört is recycled, not distilled.

Why do you think it is that color?

The bitter taste is directly a result of the collective bitterness of Chicago Fire fans, the last Malört drinkers (besides my friend Stasio). Jeppson's occasionally add a bit of extra bitterness as the "flavor" may be diluted a bit in the "recycling" process, especially when there is a water or beer chaser.

Malort is really the essence o' Fu#k Carlos Ruiz! I can't type that name without the action verb in front of it.

Like I posted in the HauptmanOut thread, Orlando is spending $20mil on dedicated training facilities for their 1st team and academy. Andy would rather spend that kind of cash on rec soccer because being a vulture capitalist he only think about the return and not what is best.

    Thanks.
