bump? Rail? line? toke? whatever you are supposed to say when you want something back on the first page. Anyway, isn't there something scheduled for tomorrow at 9? Anybody have details?
Hmmmmmm ... Possible good news?!? Rumor has it there will be a 9am press conference tomorrow (Thursday) with Adrian Fenty and DCU in attendance. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz? Keep up the good work Gonzalo Goffino, we love your blog! Posted by: Friend of DCU | February 13, 2008 03:48 PM
That's more press release than news conference. That's if this is for real. Someone could be having a laugh posting junk on Goff's site.
that person who posts as "Friend of DCU" has been right most of the time they posted on the insider. it was just a bummer that so far it had always been bad news. hopefully this means its about to change!
my guess is its the poplar point decsion Fenty: yes we picked the one place without a stadium, so take that DC! hahahahaha, i have saved the taxpayers money.....huh what it wasnt going to cost them anything? oh well, im going to go close some more schools now.
Funny - I imagine it going like this: Fenty: I am hear to announce that Mr. MacFarland has clued me into a great secret - i can save 25% or more by switching to GEICO
Did anyone notice that the Poplar Point section that was on the front of the DC United website has just (within the hour) been removed? Hope that isn't bad news.
http://www.nbc4.com/news/15295762/detail.html Posted 4 minutes ago. "Mayor Adrian Fenty plans to propose building a $200 million soccer stadium on the banks of the Anacostia River across from the city's new Nationals ballpark. Sources told News4's Tom Sherwood that the soccer stadium would be part of a $1 billion development deal on about 40 acres of land at Poplar Point along the river. The sources said the mayor will announce as early as Thursday that he has selected Clark Construction to develop the land."
I'm looking elsewhere for this story as well (haven't seen it yet). Please post if you see it reprinted. On something like this, I want as much confirmation as possible.
yeah does this mean they own it? or we own it how would that affect us? do we say thanks but no thanks, we want a stadium we own? this is getting interesting
