(since nobody else mentioned this, pardon me while I pimp up www.rapidsfan.com for reporting this)

Word comes in that the Rapids are planning on the first announcement of the stadium location along with unveiling plans and drawings at this year's Foundation Charity Kickoff Luncheon to be held Wednesday, April 14th from 12-2pm in the Ridgeline Room of the Pepsi Center.

Tickets to the event are $65, the full cost of which is tax-deductible. Fans can book their seats by calling the Rapids Foundation at 303.405.6128.

Not a cheap afternoon, however the event has always been well received by fans attending in previous years. Aside from the stadium hullaballoo, the luncheon always affords the opportunity to mingle with players and coaches, as well as both team and league staff in a social environment.

And the chow isn't bad, either.

I'm starting to believe, after reading the threads on the TV situation and stadium location, that the new facility will be called Mammoth Stadium (for outdoor lacrosse), also the Crush training facility, with the Rapids being third tenants - unless of course Forsberg, Carmelo, etc. want to practice golf, in which case they'd have priority.

O heard that they were going to put a hole on the goal line in the middle of the goal on both ends for Forsberg. He can be particular when it comes to his golf.

Congrats to the Rapids for your upcoming stadium announcement. You guys have great sports town. I love Denver. If I didnt have so much family living here in Chicago I would be living there.

That would be the team. Give 'em a ring if you don't believe me.

There is an even greater chance that FC5280 works for the team than there is that I work there.

Nice to see that another Front Office other than the Fire's pay attention to these boards. That can only ensure good things in the future.

It's my understanding that Revolution I/O Jonathan lurks on the New England boards, this in addition to several front office staff.

It's not as uncommon as you may think. And it's not limited to team front offices.

    Great news for you guys.
