Good game, Small but alive crowd, ESC seemed to have some decent numbers overthere, a huge win against Chicago.. Fun night.. But why the heck does the PA announcer have to talk over it all?? Does talking about 'chore boy', playing goofy sound effects and repeating everything twice really add to the experience??? I Brought about 40 people to the game and most were annoyed by the all the loud speaker shenanegans.. That aside though, awsome night...
The PA announcements didn't really bother me since I couldn't hear them with some of the adults blowing their plastic horns throughout the match. Also, since an announcement such as "MetroStars goal scored by John Wolyniec" is so difficult to understand for those with limited English, the Metros are considering adding several other language translations to ensure that they cover all the ethnic bases. However, here's something I find more annoying than anything you'll see at Giants Stadium: BigSoccer Message Holy traffic spike Batman! hahaha decent, i agree actually... Give me more chore boy updates if u must, just dont freeze me out of big soccer..
You think Giants Stadium is bad... some places play music DURING THE GAME! Nothing like hearing "Rock you like a Hurricane" during throw in.
Yea, that sucked. But the ESC was great. Really charged up. Let's hope the ESC can match or even exceed Saturday night's performace after the All-Star break. Good things happen when everyone packs it in together. It sucks when we're spread out.
I think we've found the winner in our West Village Double Entendre of the Week award. Congrats, mate.
On TV...it sounded like the crowd started chanting I think the "LET'S GO METROS!" chant and ESC did the drums. Really cool. Here's an easy way to add atmosphere (it may hav been suggested before here): the Metros could give out small pieces of paper with lyrics for chants, or maybe even have them on the jumbo screen. I'm sure kids would love it, parents could possibly join and, and soccer fans might want to feel like football fans and do the same. Why not? No reason to not try.
Imagine a group of little kids chanting "Adin Brown's a heretic". Now that would be worth the price of admission alone. Sounds like a good idea, handing out a lyrics sheet or something so the rest of the crowd could possibly get in on it.
ESC was real good saturday night.. Why doesnt the whole stadium sit like that?? Sitting spread out like they seat us kills any possibility of for a decent atmosphere. Then when peeps finally do make a little noise, they talk over it on the PA. Very strange way about them..
hahahaha How about when there's a goal kick and ESC screams YOU SUCK [insert curse word]!!! lol...it's so great watching MLS games and hearing that on TV.
ummmm yeah true, you guys add some decent atmosphere in there. Just a shame you guys like to isolate yourselves away from everyone else. In DC, for example, their guys sit right in the middle amongst the rest of the fans. They form a much bigger group where the enthusiasm spreads out much wider around the stadium.
I don't know about DC, but ESC is an R-rated atmosphere, which is their right I guess. I take my 11 y.o. to the games, and I wouldn't her too exposed to that.
I could never picture the ESC standing where the Screaming Eagles and Barra Brava stand......................
The ESC has a bad enough time with the NJSEA suckurity in 101..... It would only get worse if the ESC moved to the sidelines.... IMO....
I have only been down the once, but the atmosphere was much much better than Giant Stadium. Not even close actually..
