The crazy thing is, that's a serious possibility being on the banks of the Tiber in between Ostia and Rome. Topographically, it's almost a peninsula, and would have been a strategic area for water commerce.
For sure. Not only will the stop it to excavate they will have to work around any possible structures they find. Just my wild-ass guess is that it's not likely they'll find anything because they are building on a site were they built a race track are they not? I suppose it's still possible because they are going to have to dig far deeper than they did for the track but I would guess they would have run across something when they built that.
On the stadium approval… “The mayor, and all the others, have come out in the last few weeks and said they want to get it done by the end of the year – not finished and built, of course, but at least breaking ground hopefully by the end of the year. So there has been a lot of positive movement on that side of it. So there’s just ‘nitty-gritty’ things that we have got to finish up with them and hopefully by the end of May we will have everything back and ready to go and approved. "One of the issues is we still need to buy the land: there was a letter of intent, and we had an agreement in more than principle, more than two and a half months ago, with Eurnova. And Eurnova Trust has been reasonable, but we are dealing with one unreasonable lawyer that keeps pushing stuff off and asking for unreasonable stuff that we are just not going to agree to. "Once we have that done we have control of the entire project, and a lot more flexibility in terms of partners and others coming in to work with us.” https://www.asroma.com/en/news/2019...n-the-season-so-far-stadium-progress-and-more
I just read this thread on reddit talking about Lyon's budget now they've built their own stadium, which is making me fantasize about Roma's budget once the stadium is built....
The land has been purchased.... This may actually happen #StadiodellaRoma, il padrone ora è solo #Pallotta#ASRomahttps://t.co/Wdc1hU4wIM— Pagineromaniste.com (@PagineRomaniste) February 16, 2019
Not being pessimistic, nor am I being optimistic. I'm simply just going to wait until I have some evidence , and not think about it until then. No point in giving any more energy to this process.

Really excellent article by @ilRomanistaweb on the current situation regarding the #StadioDellaRoma @StadiodellaRoma It seems that they’re not publishing articles in English anymore so I’ll try to sum up a complicated situation as simply as possible https://t.co/0KJMhUttJY— Terry, Daley ⭐️⭐️ (@T_Daley) March 22, 2019 Good thread on current situation.
This is what they should have done from the beginning. Much better chance of getting it done in a suburb of Rome where they would be ecstatic to get the jobs. http://www.forzaroma.info/news-as-r...montino-fate-lo-stadio-da-noi-larea-e-valida/

Those designs will be out of date before they ever get started. edit: Is this the 8th or 9th "final" approval?
JP: “Ho inviato da Boston importanti membri di SDR sperando in un progresso, ma al Comune erano troppo occupati per incontrarli. Forse un grande investimento e tanti nuovi posti di lavoro non sono così importanti. Pallotta: “Stadium Update: Sent senior stadium staff from Boston to Rome hoping to make progress but city officials were too busy to meet. Maybe new stadium, big investment & lots of new jobs in Rome is not that important.
