Just a challenge to posters to design a scarf that we could get made. Remember nothing copyrighted. Have at it boys and girls.

Kind of hard to make a scarf for a team the MLS isn't going to give us. Maybe it should be an all black one, to symbolize how we in the Mid West get treated!

I get your point and the disappoint to be (or, for someolse, have been) screwed ... but till the investor does give up the bid, why would you?
I think it's a good idea. Philly fans already did that with the SoB and I think NYC fans too (Borough Boys, if I'm right) are thinking about it ... it's a way to get yourself out of the wood, to recognized and be recognized, maybe, with tons of work ahead, to get some media exposure too.
Tshirts, scarfs, pins, and stickers to put everywhere (from schools to pub bathrooms) with the logo of the GCSC and the website on it. Spreading the word!

First of all, this makes absolutely no sense. SoB were designing scarfs long before they had a team.

Cooper has already stated he's still working to get a team, so it's not as though the bid is dead.

And finally.....how is the midwest treated poorly? I'm fairly certain that Columbus, Chicago and Kansas City are all midwestern cities, and they all have teams.

    Isn't it Scarves?

I'd probably be up for one though.

Yeah we've been in it from the start. Right now it's called the Gateway City Supporters Club, or GCSC. You could check out our website, it's in my sig.

As for the actual designs, Sport Billy and KeeperDad are the artists.

As SportBilly has said in other threads, be patient. The GCSC is currently working on infrastructure issues and will be making a more public push for new members and attention in the near future. This will include scarves.

    Thanks,
    KD

I've been searching around looking for the GCSC images (suddenly got the itch to attempt some scarf designs). Any chance you can repost (or place them online somewhere)? I'll be posting any I generate.

I know what logo I'd like to see on a scarf, only I can't find an image.

For anyone who was a boy scout about twenty years ago, the council patch was this red, blue, and yellow patch showing the two rivers merging with the near the arch. I think the city used it as its logo at one time.

It incorporates well with a fleur-de-lis.

So you are saying I could have included an easier reference?

Yes, that's exactly what I was thinking of. I think it would look good on a scarf and it is a very topical logo.

Yeah, I like it, too. It works as both a sharp-looking design and a meaningful symbol of the city's heritage.

Although I like the green and blue color scheme of StLSU and the GCSC, I wish we could follow the lead of Philly's SOB's: their colors are the same as the Philly flag colors.

All I'm saying is, when I have one of those StL flags draped over my shoulders at the inaugural match, I'd like to be color-coordinated.

Mmm... seems I've failed to upload my picture (saw it briefly but now it's gone). A newbie question, but what's the best way of going about posting pictures in the forum? Many thanks.

    The first go round.

Second variation after seeing how difficult it was to read (although still pretty tough in this version).

Feel free to pitch pros/cons. This was more of a guided experiment for me as I've always used photoshop, but just decided to give inkscape a try (and happy I have). The smaller text reads "The First & Finest" and "MO or IL - All StL". Somewhat lame, but I figured why not, it's just for kicks.

A little too busy for my tastes. A less is more approach would definetly be good.
