Re: Potential Players? A lot of that will depend on what St. Louis U is doing this weekend. In addition to writing about our soccer teams, Tom has a second beat covering Billiken sports. If they are on the road he won't be in town I would assume.
Re: Potential Players? I wonder if AC St. Louis is considering adding Pat Noonan? Last year he earned $175,000 but made only 17 appearances for Colorado. I don't expect NASL salaries to be that high, but perhaps ACSL could make a stretch if he's healthy and available. Don't know Colorado's plans for him, but believe he was not protected in the recent expansion draft. Injuries have slowed his career a bit. He'd provide veteran leadership and he'll be 30 this summer. Could be a positive for him being at home and getting more playing time.
Re: Potential Players? As of now Noonan is still with the Rapids and that comes in the wake of a trade with New England made to get Jeff Larentowicz. If Noonan isn't going back to New England my guess is he would be staying put in Colorado. That said with the way his season went last season in Colorado it isn't totally farfetched to believe that he could end up with AC St. Louis before too long. Probably would still never happen but it would be a huge power grab if it were to.

He was making a lot of money in MLS too and says they made him a reasonable offer, but maybe he is willing to take a pay cut to finish his career in St. Louis.

Re: Potential Players? Talked to someone who was at the tryout. Lots of players from all over: South Africa, the UK, and France. Several agents were there scouting talent as well. No media either day unfortunately. St. Louis will sign 7 internationals; the first is likely Rory Prendergast from England. He played for Blackpool, Barnsley, and Accrington Stanley as well as some smaller clubs. It doesn't look like local player Glenn Volk made the cut at the invite-only tryouts. He is having a great year with the Louisville Lightning.
