Officially it would be http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slinger But realistically it would be http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=slinger
I don't think so. Too much damage has been done to that brand and I don't know that it really held much value anyway. I would imagine anyone wanting to start a new team would want a fresh start not tied to Cooper's group.
I am confused. Are you suggesting that we rename the city of St. Louis Detroit Motor City? Pretty sure people in both Missouri and Michigan would have problems with that.
Who knows the park? Not sure I follow your question. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anheuser-Busch_Center
still no word on a future NASL team, but Soccer Park did land a US U-17 MNT game: http://www.fpfooty.com/?p=2493
Wow I'm really surprised and excited to see Albuquerque mentioned. We don't have any notable non-college teams. If they put a team here, I'd buy season tix on day 1
Ok, thanks Sport Billy...I knew he had some connection to St. Louis but I couldn't remember. IIRC, his name would come up as a person who could bring MLS to St. Louis.
It looks like NASL might not be in the cards for St.Louis, but USL Pro is: http://www.soccermadeinstlouis.com/..._MISLs_Ambush,_PDLs_Glavin_working_on_it.html
Not a big fan of USL. What really bothers me is the start time. Only 6 months to get ready is not very promising.
People have been talking about Glavin moving his team up to the USL Pro for a few years. He doesn't have the money (or doesn't want to blow what he has), so this is highly contingent on a money man joining him. Once the Ambush are up and running, bleeding money all the way, their owner may reconsider funding outdoor as well.
That's not true! There is a third party that will be behind the Ambush/USLPro team and speculation is that Celtic FC will be the third party. By the way the teams name will be called the St.Louis Chupacabra SC.
Pro Soccer is back! http://stlprosoccer.com/ http://www.soccermadeinstlouis.com/...o_soccer_appears_on_its_way_to_St._Louis.html
Totally belongs in a thread titled "St. Louis is on the NASL expansion list." You're like the Central Time Zone Silverstein.
