as I said I don't mean to be critical but everybody knows somebody. Yet you say they are officially announcing on feb 27th I don't doubt they are however like I said are we just supposed to take your word for it? if your source is anonymous can you at least tell us that it is within either usl pro or team organization as an Energy fan I would welcome st.louis into the league. look at what this region would look like with Tulsa, okc,st.louis, and Colorado springs all we would need is a team or 2 in texas and maybe Albuquerque and we would have a nice southwest division
Can't divulge my source as I wouldn't want to get that person in any kind of trouble provided somebody in the know reading this message board. There will be little hints dropped up until the official announcement. I believe there will be another hint at this weekends Ambush game. I was told the 27th is the day to expect the full announcement and it just so happens that is the last Ambush home game of the season so there is your tie in.
I tell you what if STL is NOT awarded a pro outdoor team from the USL Pro League by Feb. 27, then I'm banned from Bigsoccer.com. DEAL!!!!!
St. Louis Twitter feed certainly makes it seem like they are setting up to announce something. and I don't think it is any secret that the Lions have wanted to move to USL PRO for a few years. Gavin even hinted at it in his tweets...
Yikes that Ambush logo is terrible... the Lions crest is better, but I hope they bring back AC St Louis, one of the better lower division crests any team has had IMO: Defunct St Louis area teams have some of the better crests, apparently...
I know but something you have to through the gauntlet right down their foot and if I'm wrong then I'm wrong.
Jason Davis @davisjsn 2h USL PRO's growth continues unabated. PDL St. Louis Lions and MISL Ambush partnering with aim to join the league in 2015.
There's no such thing. --a fan of a certain Northern California soccer team that's on their third reincarnation
I'm sure your rivals would love to get their hands on that name, but going for a non-shitty name/crest over "history" I like AC St Louis, I think that's one of the best crests a lower division soccer team has ever had.
I see your point, AC STL Logo was attractive but Jeff Cooper gave it along the St.Louis Athletica a black eye.
Last 6 TMLS franchises: Miami - no USL Pro team Orlando - USL Pro team New York - had a USL Pro team, but had no bearing on NYCFC Montreal - no USL Pro team Vancouver - no USL Pro team Portland - no USL Pro team Yet reporters just keep parroting the line.
Only reason I can think of as to why they keep using the USL Pro to MLS line is they used to be USL Pro teams, but didn't Portland and Vancouver both play in the restructured NASL after the whole USSF D2 crap? I remember Montreal playing in the NASL

One person writes something, and SBI and MLS give it credence by also writing about it because, you know, page views are out there and can't be left to anyone else.
