Whatever. You don't understand the what it takes to get a soccer club in St.Louis. It's not just a grass root movement, it whether the city, politicians and business sponsors can convince a millionaire to bring an expansion team and the owner has money. Even though Stan Kroenke is from Missouri, he's not going to guarantee the city if he's going to keep the Rams in St.Louis. Besides the city is still in debt for building Busch Stadium for the Cardinals.
possible friendly coming... http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/artic...usmnt-vs-bosnia-herzegovina-friendly-st-louis
It shows that there are enough fans of the sport in general in the area. Yes I am sure that this would bring in people from all over, but a good majority of the fans at that kind of game will be from St. Louis. Is it a direct relationship to what attendance for a USL team be, no. However, it does provide some market data on how many people will pay attention to the sport around here.
Andrew Haines does not have the money for an NASL team. Tony Glavin does not have the money for an NASL team. Whoever is involved in the NPSL effort does not have the money for an NASL team. Together, they do not have the money for an NASL team. It's money. That's it. That's the list. You can keep on with your "I live here" bullshit and your pie in the sky nonsense and your fairy tale wishes and your Tinker Bell crap, but you do not understand what it takes to get this done. You don't.
A possible new soccer Stadium in St. Louis? http://fox2now.com/2013/12/18/northside-redevelopment-project-to-begin-in-june/
Well I read the whole article, and only thing that even slightly keeps the door open for a stadium is the developer saying 'I hope someone will build a soccer stadium or NFL field here.' And I was thinking someone was actually building something...
Is it just me or is there a question to the poll? All I see are the options 5 and 0. Is the question what number is larger or something?
I don't know how much it costs but St. Louis is getting a USL pro team. It's going to be announced in February and both Haines and Glavin are involved.
"Here" is one: "Haines? Great. Enjoy busing to Rochester, boys." Here's another one: "Oh, good, another outdoor team for St. Louisans to ignore." Oh, wait: "No, Mr. Haines, it's SLU, not 'sue.' Nobody is suing you. Today." Want more? I can do this all night.
how do you know this? Do you have a source, or is this something your wishing or dreaming? I'm sorry I don't mean to be critical but people post dreams as fact on here all the time and nothing ever comes of it. If your posting "news" and if this is true it would fit into that category with a source that doesn't want it publicized yet then you shouldn't post it. If on the other hand you know this to be true because you read or heard it somewhere without such a promise then you should reveal your source as it is your just adding to the rumor mill. That's just no good for anybody. So please for the love of god if this is true provide some proof otherwise use a clarifying statement sorry for the rant, just my opinion
We already know, its not a big surprise: PDL Lions and MISL Ambush are teaming up to create a new USL Pro team, here is where its detailed: http://www.soccermadeinstlouis.com/..._MISLs_Ambush,_PDLs_Glavin_working_on_it.html
I love the St Louligans but its not a very big movement there in comparison to say Detroit with MCS. Lets see St Louis get organic support in the lower levels with numbers before they demand an MLS team or an NASL based on a couple of games with superstars (we could get numbers in any major city for a game between two big teams) the USL team won't be the number one, two, or three in attendance.
