I am convinced due to perfect logic and analysis that the Dynamo should play all reserves tonight. My perfect logic and analysis is that I now have tickets to the USOC QF in Chicago and I want the best chance to win at the game I'm attending.

I'd love to see what the breakdown of minutes would be for Gasper if they were divided between "what the hell are you doing?" and "who is this guy?" PS the comment ratio of "bartlow was next to the guy who scored/created a score but he did absolutely nothing wrong cuz he's my boo" is gonna go through the roof this game
Softest PK awarded I have witnessed in decades! That call by that MLS ref is symbolic of how poor our nation is at generating a quality, professional referee corps. I mean as far as the sport has come in the United States and Canada in quality of players, stadiums and the fans of the beautiful game, to often in MLS and at the youth scene, refs make a mess of the sport.
Yea but these guys had their trip planned way before Open Cup. Jorge with Dynamo Fan TV will be in Chicago from what I heard though
yes....yes he is. He has all the hallmarks of being told he is elite and then goes & acts like he has elite skill. Except he doesn't, and ends up playing like a spastic puppy. PS I've now criticized both Bartlow and CoCo. Bracing myself for full Juve treatment
Our guys were battling. Shows a shift in backbone. Credit Coach Olsen as previous years our players often went on cruise control when playing from a deficit.
you wanna be real, most of the defense is roughly bartlow's level of surplus. schmitt is a retasked F who was cut by RSL hence available to us. van der kust had been dropped to his B team in holland and can't make the field here. gasper was once a golden boy U20 but never impressed me then and is on his third team in as many years. he was "without team" when signed. escobar was a LA bench reject and he looks underwhelming. steres was another discard from LA's other team. micael was ok in his cameo last year but what little i have seen this year looks like nextpro was his ceiling. i don't know what smith looked like, but i already said my piece on signing an ACL player. no clue on swiatchenko but he had given slightest hope at simply being a different face who wasn't off the MLS waiver wire ie surplus when he arrived here. it is just a mess in general. i don't get how we expect to compete against good starting teams with people's bench leftovers. bartlow is just another example and you get the vociferous protest because i can't believe people want to go to the mat on a below average defender who couldn't even play much last season and as far as i can tell isn't any better now, just pressed into duty by the veteran moves last offseason. he should be somewhere between bench, USL, or nextpro based on what i have seen. people can keep harping on bartlow because they want to make this personal. the whole backline is basically trash. i am bored discussing the obvious. move on to the others.
What is it about the road that makes us so terrible? It's the same game, same rules, field is functionally the same. I don't get it.
1) overaggressive tactics 2) subpar personnel 3) wasteful offense 4) leaky defense you want to win on the road you either need to be a superior unit -- spend the money -- or you need to be able to control games with tactics that calculate risk appropriately and get bodies behind the ball. when this was a good team and a good road team they played a 442, got behind the ball on defense, and grinded out wins with a superior set of legacy players who hit laser service and usually finished their chances. what happened is as of the DP increases the hard cap went away and we became second rate on personnel, and then ever since jordan this has been about cute fashion tactics which don't work away or on "better" table teams. presses, 433s, the soccer version of identity politics. either spend the money and get some stars -- and not just HH, like people who can score a hat trick and win it by themselves -- or on a budget this needs to be more like nashville or minnesota which to me are the heirs to the grind them out style of the kinnear era. if you look at either team they are winning records away. they might even be better road teams than the table-topping spendy teams who tend to be aggressive in tactics -- a vulnerability away -- but superior personnel.
it says more about you folks than me that you watch gasper and bartlow get tooled up for PK1 and your first move is not to say, yeah, he was on the hook for that, or even hmm, maybe he has a point, but to start preemptively spinning how "of course juve will blame bartlow" as opposed to trade in reality. both are responsible. it's beyond f*cked up, essentially "he said black so i have to say white" to have your response. pretty f*cking lame. y'all are confusing your groupthink politics with any resemblance of reality. do tell me when reality dawns on you people. my point is this whole defense is subpar and needs to be retooled if you want to compete this season. either listen or just keep repeating the past several years. that does include the player we have been debating but also a long list. you need to get this where at least 2-3 of the backs are serviceable at a "could win a tough game" level.
