What an idiot move from Vidal. So guess both Fati and Raki start in the second-leg. Guess that's not so bad, but no depth whatsoever.
Yeah, ref made a point of telling Vidal he was getting one yellow for the challenge and another for the headbutt kerfuffle.
Messi looked kinda off today? His last touches left something to be desired. Vidal, sigh...old habits die hard. Griez and MatS MOTM for me. Griez was playing defense and was hustling!
Tough to dribble through collapsed lines ... and no passing lanes/options either. What do people expect ?
Yeah, but you always except Messi to deliver some magic consistently. Not worried, just something I've noticed. I also saw Messi running to the keeper towards the 90th minute. I'm glad Setien is encouraging some high press.
This is the type of game that Suarez probably wouldn't have helped much either. People may complain about Busquets but the team obvious needs are a better winger and good FBs. Would make everybody on the team perform better. I thought Semedo was meh ... but Firpo is atrocious.
Barca's away record since 2015 in KO rounds ... Games - 10 Wins - 2 Draws - 3 Losses - 5 Goals Scored - 5 Goals Conceded - 18
On the play right after the tying goal where Insigne splits Pique and Semedo, if he centers the ball instead of taking that shot it's a goal. We escaped this 1st leg. They could have easily scored 3 goals given the types of chances they had even if they weren't too many.
I expect solid performance in second leg. This was a lucky escape but we've seen it many times when it comes to Barca playing away game in CL.
Yikes. Out of all the CL Exits since '15, I've only fully watched the Roma collapse. In that loss, I just remember Roma choosing a 5-man midfield and crossing like crazy while at home. I remember we lacked energy and they were just outmuscling us in every way inside.
Yeah, the key is the goal diff. Pep was winless in his first 7 away CL KO matches, but only one loss by more than one goal (Inter 2010j.
Actually didn't think it was a terrible performance except by the ref. The Vidal yellows were quite harsh and he took some risks early but played well. I thought we looked more poised than under Valverde. Especially after we scored we seemed to get better and better. Firpo is total garbage though. This man shouldn't be starting any matches for us. Hopefully we get Alba back soon. And hope Pique's injury isn't anything bad.
More poised in what way ? Because we kept possession ? If that's so that's only because Napoli parked the bus.
Yeah because their goal was a result of precise engineering Napoli scored a goal because of a screw up
