Let me remind you that if not for BOTH Ramos AND Varane getting injured Militao would never ever have gotten 4 consecutive starts for the club this season, which also means that Ode would never get those kind of opportunities as long as Kroos/Modric were available.

To be fair, you don’t mention here that Militao’s lack of minutes comes in part from Nacho having the best season of his career and playing over 2000 minutes.

Certainly, with Odegaard unique characteristics and lack of depth in midfield/attack, he would’ve gotten more opportunities than Militao. Conversely, center back is our strongest position in terms of depth.

Well if he mentioned the fact Zidane got it right playing Nacho he would have to eat his words about how much he wanted Zidsne fired lol.

    Zidane fuera! Ahaha

With Ramos practically being out for half the season, somebody would've have to play.

Ramos and Varane start when healthy, no questions asked. Nacho and Militao play when either of them can't play.

This is the first time since joining Real Madrid that Militao has followed up with 4 consecutive games. The Brazilian was able to change his status and has already secured his place in the squad for next season. @MarcA

[emoji404] At first Militão's departure was not ruled out but now the idea is that he stays and fights for a position. By performance, he is the best center-back in recent games. #rmlive [emoji1054] [emoji1017]

I wouldn’t bench Militao, or Nacho for that matter, they’re playing well and you should hit the iron while it’s hot.

Ramos should be eased in. He's been out for quite a while.

I have thing and I’m not sure I know how to explain but maybe someone can help..

First of.. He’s been amazing! He’s come in and he’s done a great job - I had to be Zidane deciding if the club captain, icon and big game player should play or Eder should continue..

My thing.. is that most times it looks like he’s using his recovering abilities to intercept.. all defender have to do that.. but to me it seems likes that’s his rule and not the exception. Just wondering if it’s just me or others have noticed it? Not saying he’s a bad player or doesn’t deserve his starts or praise..

just asking if others also feel like he’s “not in control” per say? Like a lesser Pepe..

I hear your concern but the thing is when he is doing that as usually the last defender then i think it has more to do with the fact that we play with a high line than Militao’s positional awareness. That’s not say that he doesn’t have room to improved, he’s only 23 so I’m sure he’ll get there eventually.

Has this man been given a new contract and a permanent residency at CB yet?

Our 2019 summer transfers could have been one of the best ever if Jovic and Hazard had panned out immediately.

Militao/ Mendy/ Rodrygo were all very very good buys.

Kubo/Reiner also very high potential purchases that summer.

Like the thread title, his tackles and interceptions yesterday on opponents receiving a pass with their back to goal were very reminiscent of Ramos. Love to see that.

I hope Militao can develop leadership qualities like Marquinhos over next few years.

Zz says he needs to fight for hai position now.
Earlier he was going to go straight to the transfer list.

Well he's ahead of Varane for sure. Varane needs to win his place back imo

If Sergio returns for the second leg, unless they play a back 3 again, i'm pretty certain it will be Eder and Nacho on the bench, i'd prefer to see Eder start but IMO unlikely

If Alaba is coming, money can be better spent elsewhere to improve the squad

We won't spend 80 ME on Kounde or 60 ME on Pau. If Varane leaves, we are covered with Militao, Alaba, Nacho provided Ramos renews. We need to spend on a wing scorer.

Agree, CB is literally our strongest position lol. If the Alaba news is true I'm fine with one of Ramos or Varane moving on.

Ramos has lost an incredible amount of leverage due to Militao's play during his and Varane's absence.
