He is one of the top keepers this season in BL. He deserves a better team than gladbach. Though he is not very young , but he is late bloomer who could still be considered for the NT after the WC ( at least to provide competition for our young keepers Urbig, Seimen, Backhaus, and Atubolu)
https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/atubolu-faces-uncertain-freiburg-future-094300847.html After Noah Atubolu stalled on contract talks for months while waiting for offers to take the next step in his career, SC Freiburg reacted by bringing in Mio Backhaus from Werder Bremen as their new first-choice goalkeeper. As reported by Sport Bild, Atubolu’s clear target remains to leave the club, but the problem is that there have been no enquiries for him so far. For Freiburg, there is no compromise and no going back, with the report claiming that the club believe the 24-year-old goalkeeper behaved “insufficiently respectfully” during negotiations. Newcastle United long appeared to be the most likely destination, but no concrete offer materialised. In the worst-case scenario for Atubolu, he could end up spending the 2026/27 season in the stands before his contract expires next summer. Both Atubolu and Freiburg naturally want to avoid that, but a suitor naturally must emerge for a transfer to become possible.
This is weird. He is one of the top keepers in BL. He should have many offers like bayer leverkuson or leipzig or any PL team.
Neuer is still not 100% fit to start tonight. I wonder how wise it will be to start your first WC match in few days if he is not ready yet. Fortunately , our first match is easy.

Looking forward to the new generation of keepers and who will be our nb 1 in Euro 2028 after Neuer and probably Baumann retire. Urbig looks ahead of others now but we still have Atobulu , Backhaus, Seimen , and Ernst who could all compete. Hopefully we could see one of them as starter instead of Nübel.
Dude can't catch a break in his career, Alexander Nuebel to Besiktas. Bayern squeezed the hell out of this guy between all the loans and finally this move to the Turkish league https://www.transfermarkt.de/abnehm...t-neuer-nachfolge-bei-bayern/view/news/482486
He's really hated at München. There has to be one, or more likely several, incidents we don't know about, yet. Can't care much about, though. Let's get one of the young lads onboard.
Diant Ramaj pushing for a move out of Dortmund, as he currently doesn't have any prospects at moving ahead of Gregor Kobel for that starting role https://www.transfermarkt.de/ramaj-...-dortmund-offen-fur-transfer/view/news/482735
Why isnt Ter Stegen mentioned as an alternative for the upcoming Euros? Just hear that Baumann is to old and that we should go for Urbig in media etz. Ter Stegen is only 34 and can still hit form again. Think it would be a nice solution till the younger keepers are ready. Think with Ter Stegen and Schlotterbeck back Germany would get a better build-up play.
Scholtterbeck is extremely injury prone and I doubt Germany can rely on him to be healthy throughout a tournament. This is on top of what he needs to improve as a defender for making fatal mistakes time and again. yes, Ter Stegen would be a good addition for Germany as number 1 in the Euro but for that he needs stay fit and play a good season. Since that is not going to happen in the best case scenario until spring of 2027 and Klopp needs to choose his number 1, I guess Urbig gets the nod and Ter Stegen could either be number 2 behind Urbig or his NT career might be over already. If Urbig fails to establish himself as number 1 (which would be a terrible thing and brings further instability), I do not see Ter Stegen becoming number 1
Ter Stegen has literally played a grand total of 12 games in the past 2 season, and 3 appearances overall in 2025/26. He has name recognition from that past as being a former Barca and Gladbach #1, but he hasn't been relevant in a while due to always being injured
I know he has been out injured for a long time. I asked AI about Ter Stegens medical status and it claimed that he is back from injury and probably going to Ajax. (Would not be the first time I get a total BS answer from AI though)
It would be really hard for Klopp to chose his nb 1 if Baumann retired already. Stegen needs to find his form again and be fit for few months before being considered. Urbig , the best choice, is nb 2 behind Neuer . Atobulo is already leaving to a new club and needs to be starter there. Backhaus and Seimen could be considered for the mannchaft if they were starters and did extremely well in their new season ( first for Seimen and 1st for Backhaus with Freiburg). The safest bet for the rest of 2026 could be Nübel until others prove themselves as starters.
Really hope Urbig is our man for the future. And that he gets the necessary playingtime behind Neuer. And that he have a strong mind handeling set backs. Because he will make mistakes as a part of his development as a young keeper. The potential is obviously there wich he already have shown on ocassions, when getting the chance to show it.
Feyenoord's most recent acquisition is Tjark Ernst. The German goalkeeper, who comes over from Hertha BSC, replaces the departing German goalkeeper Timon Wellenreuther. "One German is gone, and the other comes in immediately," he says with a laugh. For ever a memory When the helicopter flew into the Kuip, Ernst grabbed his phone. He wanted to capture this special moment. "This flight is a memory for life, that's why I filmed it. I always want to remember this." Ernst has only been a Feyenoord player for a few days and has a lot of impressions to process. "I still don't understand what is happening. Tomorrow I have a day off, then I can start to realize everything. Everything that has happened is still a bit blurry," he notes. https://www.berliner-kurier.de/hert...erz-50000-fans-feiern-tjark-ernst-li.10211596 etc.
