Never really rated him few years ago. But he seems to be improving steadily every season. And since Sommer is getting older, I see him as a good replacement for the BMG goalie. I hope it will happen sooner.
I think he's an above average talent at the GK position. In terms of options who are '96 born and younger, Müller has probably developed the most so far. Nübel had like 1 decent season at Schalke but that's the only sample size that he's shown as he really hasn't had a continuous chance to show himself at Bayern. Can't tell if Müller has what it takes to become the level of guys before him like ter Stegen and Leno, but if he continues to further improve then he should reach the level of being a starter for a Top 5 Bundesliga club later on in his career.

if Nico Mantl can become #1 at Salzburg, already got #1 shirt, than that's another with CL. In that case Mantl would likely be U21 #1 for 00-01.

stats and potential wise, Dahmen>>>>Zentner. Only thing Zentner has is experience and composure. Clubs were interested in Dahmen but club said nope, staying at #2. Grill has done well in 1BL and some 2BL clubs want him on loan but given fact that Bayer won't let him go to Olympics looks like also staying at #2. Very easy to be #2 or #3 in 1BL-2BL but its hard to become #1 if #1 doesn't go injured. Almost clubs and coaches are cowards, would take experience over GK mistakes from lack of experience. same issue with CB for numerous clubs, can't allow young CB to make mistakes, he will cost us games. Can't play youth CF we need someone to score when we need goals. all comes down with current gen of coaches are mostly cowards. Also International market also allows to buy GKs and other positions and save yourself trouble of integration. Limited mobility for GKs in Germany.
