logically if you want Fruchtl to be Neuer's heir and you estimate Neuer has like 3-5 years left. It would make him like 21-23 by the time #1 spot is open. Which is why a loan move in the next 2 years should happen. Get experience while Neuer is still #1 to replace him when the time comes.

Horn won't matter as Koln are highly likely getting relegated. If that's the case he either leaves or plays 2BL.
I think the best chance for keepers is to get promoted from the 2nd division to play in 1st.

    younger keepers in 2nd
    -Fabian Bredlow, age 22, FCN
-Marcel Schuhen age 24, is on the high side in terms of clean sheets in 2BL
    -Marvin Schwabe, age 22
-Marius Muller, age 24 Kaiserslautern although on loan from RB.

from that list only the 1st 2 have a realistic chance to jump to BL. Although plenty of these clubs have German keeper especially young ones. All it could take is injuries or poor form or even transfers from keepers for them to get chances.

or just move abroad, Peter Gulacsi was bought by RB after playing in Austria. There are plenty of examples of this in BL, some starting keepers came from Scandinavia etc. Or try the Eredivisie.

Schwäbe and Bredlow are two of the young keepers in 2BL who have a potential chance to move up to the first division later on in their careers. Same with Daniel Mesenhöler who right now is unfortunately only the back up at Union Berlin.

Vlachodimos should be the best example of someone who goes abroad and makes a name for themselves. Wellenreuther has a long way to go but maybe in 2 years he'll fight his way back.

There's also Thomas Dähne who plays for HJK Helsinki in Finland right now. Not really well known but he had 14 clean sheets in 22 league matches. His team won the league cup, where he had CS in all 5 of his matches. He also got a chance to play in some EL qualifying games. Finnish league though so fwiw.

Debatable how their talent ceilings are but three notable young keepers in 3.Liga with starting jobs right now are: Marius Gersbeck (Osnabrück), Nils Körber (Preussen Münster), and Kevin Broll (SG Sonnenhof...).

    lol you were saying.
    https://imgtc.com/uploads/H29iKmHG2u4.mp4

will he get benched now? This gaff was the 1st goal in a 2-1 loss. Has made plenty of weird plays this season,

even his 2nd goal conceded, have to say his decision and movement were very poor.

finally Kevin Trapp starts his 1st game of the season. Although it just seems like it's a resting the 1st keeper for a game thing. Still seems like he's better off leaving in Winter.

Loris Karius got the clean sheet victory, featuring in Liverpool's 7-0 thrashing of Spartak Moscow.

He's actually #7 on the clean sheet table for the CL with Ter Stegen #1. I'm sure if Neuer was not injured he would have been the 3rd German keeper in the top 10!!!

    also according to this

Odisseas Vlachodimos might move to Benfica this January???

I made a similar point a few days ago in the youth thread outside of the Fruchtl prospect (still too young), every other keeper is nowhere near Neuer or even Ter Stegen level and that includes all the current keepers in 1BL, 2BL etc.

that's not a good thing at all, I can't imagine majority of these keepers being NT keepers. We seem to be producing decent at best keepers.

92 and 93 are probably the last age groups that have produced a good GK; ter Stegen and then possibly Leno, Horn, Karius as secondary options.

Everyone from 94-99 do not stand out and are basically on the same level. GK is definitely the position where the least chance will be given to young prosects. The ones that are adequate seem to be only a bench option that doesn't play or only featuring in 2BL or 3BL. Those players will just keep piling up on benches and reserves as minimal upward transition happens.

Früchtl from the 2000-borns is supposedly the next major talent, but even he needs to wait a while until he gets a realistic chance. Neuer has at least 4-5 years of being #1. While Bayern will also look towards options like Ulreich when Neuer is injured.

    pretty much, this is Bayern,
Ulreich is our keeper now that Neuer is out. We don't trust the youngsters, so let's bring back Tom Starke from retirement. Oh look Ulreich is injured, the retired keeper is now the temporary #1 ahead of Fructhl and Ron-Thorben Hoffmann.

Just like the weekend, Starke is #1 tomorrow and since Fruchtl is out, Ron-Thorben Hoffmann should be sitting on the bench for the 2nd consecutive game.

From this, the reluctance to give the youth chances with preferring a retired keeper over the ones that will still be there after he retires again is a waste. Also proves that only way for Fructhl to make it at Bayern is a loan, reason why he doesn't play isn't the age factor it's the experience factor. A positive if Bayern II can make it to 3rd Liga is that Fruchtl will be playing 3rd division, which is for sure better experience than 4th division.

Karius with his 2nd EPL appearance today as he starts vs West Bromwich.
Trapp is starting his 2nd game of the season in the Coupe de la Ligue.

Karius in the EPL this season, 2 games=2 clean sheets. His 5th clean sheet in 8 games.
while Trapp's team won 4-2 in the Coupe de la ligue.

Still think Trapp should leave while I'm hoping that Karius can overtake Mignolet.

and if FCN make it to 1BL, we'll have a 23 year old keeper!

younger keepers in 2BL like Marius Muller (RB) and Marvin Schwabe (Hoff) are on loan though will be interesting to see what's next for them.
