that's one of the problems of RB. They have the $$$ and they have the means to qualify for Europe. Yet most German players don't want to play for them. It's been a problem since last season, so many rejections in the last 2 seasons.

it's why they are better off going for the Germans when they are still young, get them in their youth and promote them. But that's not what they do as they haven't promoted anyone for real.

at this rate RB is headed towards being another Frankfurt.

I think players like Amiri, Arp and Torben Rhein also rejected Leipzig recently

well we know that some of Low's assistant coaches were watching his games.

his chance will be in the March friendlies if he doesn't get called up then his chances will be smaller.

Daniel Opare from Augsburg has been kicked out of the team and asked to find a new club.

could be a chance for 22 year old Raphael Framberger to cement himself as Augsburg's main RB. He's played 5 1BL games this season.

from U19 there is Leonhard von Schroetter and from the reserves there is Nicola Della Schiava. Who could move in to become the back ups.

Apart from Jonas Hector we have quite a few left backs who have age in their side....

    1. Halstenberg
    2. Philip Max
    3. Platenherdt
    4. Itter

Apart from that we also have the following 2 guys who either fallen down the rader or never considered good enough
    1. Schmelzer
    2. Gerhardt
    3. Oczipca

We also have the 3 following young sidebacks who can play either side of the flank but currently not good enough

    1. Benjamin Henrichs
    2. Jeremy Toljan
    3. Lucas Klostermann

Is there a dedicated right back except Kimmich?

Toljan is the one who is currently not good enough. I think he should have stayed at Hoff. He moved to a big club too early in his career. Schmelzer was also never good enough for the NT. Gerhardt is either injured or has been moved to the midfield over LB, which is why he isn't considered anymore.

Henrichs and Klostermann are both still German U21 players and more on the too young side rather than not good enough. although they can play both sides they are still mainly RB. Reason as to why Klostermann plays LB is because Halstenberg is out for the rest of the season although he's playing RB today vs Koln.

On the topic of RB's, Mitch Weiser's move to Leverkusen looks very close to being confirmed.

While Hertha set their sights on Koeln's Lukas Klünter. Toljan is being linked with Stuttgart, which sounds like a reasonable move to consider.

see this is why we need you back! I never picked up on Toljan returning home to Stuttgart, which is a decent career move after moving to a big club to early. His time at Dortmund were ones to forget, shame since he has potential as he showed numerous times for Hoff and Germany U21/Olympics.

Hector to a big club is about time. Weiser needs to be better in attack and he could be good. Although this does mean Henrichs might leave Bayer. He's already being mostly ignored and he did say that these transfer rumors don't make him happy. Not to worry if he leaves he's sure to have tons of interest.

interesting Summer transfer for German fullbacks a lot of movements in the big clubs. You also have Amade getting a pro contract at Hoff.

With Beck injured which could carry towards next season and aging in general, a Toljan move to Stuttgart makes sense to get back on track.

There's also Passlack who would enter his second year of loan at Hoffenheim. Wonder if he can finally establish himself, or would Dortmund recall him and maybe send him somewhere else for now.

Reports from previous transfer windows mentioned that RB Leipzig were very interested in Henrichs. Although they already have Klostermann as RB, and Halstenberg as starting LB when he returns from injury. There's also Bernardo who rotates between both fullback position. Along with the coach using someone else like Laimer as fullback. So it'll be a similar jam for playing time to what it's like at Leverkusen right now.

Apparently some of Henrichs top moments was when Roger Schmidt was still in charge at Leverkusen. If Schmidt gets hired at Frankfurt, maybe Henrichs could be a good fit over there.

if he was older and more experienced I wouldn't have minded if he moved abroad. But only being 21, I prefer he stays in 1BL.

although there is competition at Frankfurt at RB with Chandler and da Costa and LB you have Willems, Tawatha and Beyreuther. That seems to be a crowded position on both sides. Although him and Roger could be interesting....

if not Frankfurt hard to see what club he could fit in or that can afford him, unlikely to be cheap.

I've been wondering if Gian Luca Itter doesn't sneak himself into the NT picture much sooner than expected. Jogi has a history of bringing along top talents at positions of relative weakness who aren't yet ready but look like they could be big parts of our future; and Itter could have put himself on the map for this with his debut for FC VW this season.

I don't think he goes to russia, but he's a darkhorse to go to the pre-tourney training camp. And once there, who knows what'll happen if his superior talent (relative to our other LB options) really shines.

Halstenberg doesn't have Henrichs' talent, so if he moved to Leipzig I don't think it would be unrealistic to expect him to end up starting opposite Klostermann once he settled in.

Though I do hope that Leipzig move Laimer back to the midfield and that takes him out of the FB equation, as he (likes Henrichs) is a natural 8, and they could use him at his natural position with Keita leaving.

I think Nico Schulz has shown steady improvements this season at Hoffenheim. He's worked towards earning that starting LWB spot in the Rückrunde, where his team has also been on the rise in the table as well. And has also assisted in 3 straight matches against HSV, Leipzig, and Hannover. I don't think he's on the same level as Philipp Max but he could be another option for the future when Hector phases out, and to compete with Plattenhardt, Halstenberg, etc.

On another note, Jonas Föhrenbach returns to Freiburg this summer after being on loan at Karlsruher. Did pretty decent on that level from what I've noticed. I wonder if he's able to compete with Chrtistian Günter for that LB spot.

seems like interest in Pachonik are Fiorentina, and Sampdoria as of now from Serie A.

If he moves up we could get our 2nd fullback in Serie A besides Gosens.

That's one way to attract attention.

I think Philip Max will get his shot at the next EM. If he moves to a bigger team that plays in Europe he will really improve his chances.

With two great wing-backs like Kimmich and Max, one has to wonder if a traditional number 9 would be a better option than Werner. Someone like Selke for example.

    Or Fullkrug?

    Or maybe a two-striker formation?
