Waldschmidt bagged a brace in Benfica's win today, while Seb Polter scored in Fortuna Sittard's draw. Highlights from Benfica ☝️ Man of the match!#RAFCSLB #WeAreBenfica pic.twitter.com/d1GGbv02wb— SL Benfica (@slbenfica_en) October 18, 2020
Liga NOS top scorers, 1-Pinho, 5 goals 2-Santana and Waldschmidt at 4 goals. 4 goals in 4 games for Waldschmidt. so Thy and Polter both at 2 in Eredivisie, would consider it good season if they manage double.
lol just realized that Rodrigo Pinho is German-Brazilian. Born in Henstedt-Ulzburg, Germany while his father Nando was representing Hamburger SV, Pinho joined Bangu's youth setup in 2010, aged already 19. https://www.transfermarkt.com/rodrigo-pinho/profil/spieler/366278 so that's 2 out of 3 in top scorers who are German.
Looks like Luca Pfeiffer is only playing for Midtjylland's reserve squad for now that competes in a league against Danish clubs' reserves. Fwiw he had 2 goals and 1 assist in his first game there. He's also not part of their CL squad.
Pfeiffer made his debut for Midtjylland subbing on at the 74th min as they went on to win 3-2 vs Brondby.
Two years ago, Füllkrug was considered a candidate for the national team. But he did not receive an invitation. Then followed two serious knee injuries. Now he's back strong. "If he continues to score regularly, he deserves a chance," said Werder's double striker Ivan Klasnic (40) to BILD. “If you play a good season, there is also an opportunity for the national team. He can play football, has the quality. I wish it for him, but it's still too early. " Because: Füllkrug is still not fully in full force after his cruciate ligament tear from the previous season. That's why Klasnic is still cautious. The ex-striker: “He has to confirm his form in the next few games. Then maybe you can think about it. It's going well again now, but the national team is coming too early. "
Not necessarily big news but Mario Engels has signed with Sparta Rotterdam. He started their last match day alongside Lennart Thy as dual strikers. Tbh, the only good season he's had as a pro was 2 years ago with Roda JC in the Dutch second division where he finished second in league scoring. Which likely helped him get considerations for a job again in the Netherlands.
⏱️ 37' Substitution 🔄Bad news as Florian #Kohfeldt is forced into an early change 🤕⬅️ Niclas #Füllkrug➡️ Yuya #Osako⚽ 1-1 #werder #svwtsg pic.twitter.com/nl8vuXZBNy— SV Werder Bremen EN (@werderbremen_en) October 25, 2020
Bremen is cursed post Kruse their attackers are always injured. Osako who replaced Fullkrug came off injured in 87th min too. Wonder if this could be more chances for Woltemade and Dinkci?
No official detailed report on Füllkrug but looks like he had calf issues. Muscle related injuries can usually be week to week so from a preliminary view it's not necessarily as bad yet. But otherwise, the message is clear. Germany needs to work harder on producing more strikers overall.
Kovac thinks that Volland needs a month or two to adapt to Ligue 1 https://www.ligue1.com/Articles/NEWS/2020/10/25/kovac-volland-needs-one-or-two-months-to-adapt
lol Undav scored his 1st 2 goals today in 6-0 win in Belgian 2nd division. Seems like bull though, 1-2 months for a 28 year old to adapt to a league that's lower level than 1BL. With his hundreds of pro games shouldn't need 3-4 months after joining to adapt. Well good news that Monaco who are getting trashed didn't pay much for him.
Looks like Füllkrug has been given an all clear as his calf injury shouldn't be too serious. However, Osako is the one who's been injured more severely. https://www.deichstube.de/news/werd...nose-entwarnung-bundesliga-news-90080178.html
Kohfeldt thinks that the worst case scenario for Füllkrug would be a return after the upcoming international break for the 8th matchday https://www.ligainsider.de/mobile/n...inschaetzung-zur-fuellkrug-verletzung-295078/

Looks like Felix Platte has a minimal role with Darmstadt so far this season. A few bench sub appearances but only sparse minutes. His contract with them does expire in the summer. Curious to see where he ends up. If he moves it'll most likely be to another mid or lower table 2BL club.
Kleindienst scored Gent's lone goal in their 1-4 lost to Hoffenheim in the Europa league during midweek. He now has 3 goals in 13 matches in all competitions so far this season, although he still has a ways to go in establishing himself over there.
Scorers in the 2BL this match day, including youth players and older guys fwiw: Terodde x2, Krüger, Serra, Köpke x2, Proschwitz, Zoller, P.Hofmann x2, Dursun, Weydandt. Platte left off of Darmstadt's active roster again. Not sure if it's fitness, Covid, or just because. Shame about the injuries through the years.
Lucas Höler scores his first of the season to give Freiburg a 1-0 lead vs Leverkusen in the opening minutes of the match
