I think if we are playing 3421 formation as shown in Confed Cup

    Loew might bring 5 CBs

Seems to be solid for now that Rudiger, Suele and the two old masters will be set for the CB's

Looking towards the 2020 Euros and beyond, this is how the CB depth charts are shaping up to be like. I'm leaving out players 1998 and after, as I don't think they'll be at a point where they're ready to contribute on the senior NT level even in the next 2-4 years.

Born before 1990: Hummels, Boateng, Höwedes
    1992: Mustafi, Orban
    1993: Rüdiger, Heintz
    1994: Ginter
    1995: Süle, Kempf, Stark, Akpoguma
1996: Tah, Baumgartl, Anton, Kehrer, Koch
    1997: Uduokhai, Mühl, Löwen, Torunarigha

Willi Orban with a recent interview. He's born in Germany to a Hungarian father, and a Polish mother.

"I do not exclude anything, but the German national team would certainly be my first option. In Hungary and Poland I would get a chance faster, but I'm not necessarily the type to go the easy way."

According to another report, it looks like he's not eligible for Poland anymore. As his mother no longer has Polish citizenship and previous attempts to reclaim it were unsuccessful.

Kevin Akpoguma is healthy again, and has been featuring in Hoffenheim's starting XI for their last 4 matches (BL and Pokal).

He was a key player who helped Germany win the U19 Euros back in 2014.

Saw both the goals conceded by Chelsea today....for the first one Rudiger should have been more agile and for the second goal he didn't press Lukaku hard enough who sent an easy cross for Lingard....bad defending....

Now just saw the goal Arsenal conceded and no surprise Mustafi is a laughing stock....

Hoping Howedes comes back to form and remains fit...we need his experience along with Hummels, Boateng...

Mustafi is a joke, always chokes vs good opposition. I really hope Low leaves him out for the WC. He's a blunder CB.

as for Rudiger, I can't really say it's only on him. The other guys also made mistakes in their movements. The 2nd goal had another player as the last one that Lukaku faced before he crossed the ball to Lingard.

Howedes made a mistake in going to Juventus, will be very hard for him to get playing time, when he missed like half the season with injuries. And before the Atalanta game was postponed he was on the bench rather than the XI.

would say he's had games where he made mistakes but is getting better and better. He's still 22 and in a new club.
Helps that he's playing with Kimmich, Boateng, and Hummels and soon to be back Neuer. Which is good for us having a keeper and 4 defensive player all playing at the same club.

Sane is destroying Mustafi and this is why we don't need him. If he can't defend vs a young player like Sane, what can we expect him to do vs better players? I don't want to imagine Mustafi vs Messi or Neymar etc....

he's just not a NT caliber CB and we have better options.

Tbf Sane has destroyed many PL defenders this season, he isn't just some young player, he is a world class talent with phenomenal pace.

That being said I agree Mustafi is not NT calibre. I think Löw likes him though.

Pogba had already destroyed Mustafi too at Euro 2016

    2+ years last post, lol.
    I'm ignoring all 98-onwards.

Call ups: Koch, Ginter, Sule,Tah, Uduokhai, Rudiger, Stark, Kehrer
Ignored:Boa, Hummels, Mustafi (Germany's only world class player)

    Rest of Pool:
S.Bender, Knoche, Friedrich, Anton, Kempf, Gross, Vogt, Torunarigha, Hubner,
    Czichos, Heintz

Minor role at club: Jantschke, F.Hubner, Behrendt, Bell, Hack, Gulde, K.Schlotterbeck

Another 5 cbs have been poached.

I think Kempf, Torunarigha and wait and see on Friedrich seem like only decent option.

Sule seems to have some issues atm, which is slightly worrying.

The current crop of CBs haven't been able to reach the level of Boateng and Hummels from the past. The likes of Süle, Rüdiger and Ginter are still a tier below them.

Koch and Kehrer are okay but they're not starter international class. Kehrer always seems to get in injury issues.

Kempf and Friedrich are good/above average on the Buli level, but they need to continue working, move onto bigger clubs, play in Europe, establish themselves on the higher level.

Same with Uduokhai and Torunarigha, and for the latter try to stay out of injury issues
