No Destiny, Johnson is touch-and-go, and Balloon Man is under internal investigation.

    COYS!

Tel has replaced Solanke in the squad, as you are allowed to replace a player with a long term injury. Doesn't mean he'll play, but he will at least have a good seat for the game.

Palhinha, Gray and Xavi is the midfield I was hoping to see.

3 points please. After this it's just Dortmund at home and Eintracht away, both tough games.

Dreadful miss from Richarlisson! Odobert with a great cross and with the whole goal to aim for, the hapless Brazilian allows the keeper to save. Sigh.

Another reminder of why we need to get a proper no 9 in January.

Vdv gets booked which means he will miss the next game vs Borussia Dortmund.

Not the greatest goalkeeping from Vicario, he parries a free-kick right into the danger area (as he tends to do), but nothing comes of it.

Great work from Kudus, but his cross is cleared off the line by their defender with Odobert lurking at the far post..

    1-0, 26 mins, Zima (og)

Spurs get their third og of the competition from a corner, as Romero's header is turned into his own goal by the witless Zima. Somewhere in the Swiss Alps, an expat shakes his head in disapproval.

Got to the pub and got the game on just as we were taking the corner. Sonny in the stands. Beer served. Nice.

That's okay, we have Davies as a like-for-like replacement.

A quesadilla ... a couple more beers ... a couple more goals ... a Ben Davies appearance ... not a bad afternoon in the end.

Looks like Richie has been binned off penalty-taking duties.

Should have beaten them by a bunch more goals - their keeper made some good saves. @Chickasaw - now THAT was a lucky OG. The unforced brain fart.

I agree that was lucky and I prefer our own open play goals instead of own goals and opposition assists called penalties. Is that how we beat teams right down at the bottom of the table? I wasn't happy with how we won that and I don't think we're firing on all cylinders. It's damned annoying why we're not more fluent in these matches. I'm also wary when we don't score in the second half in a match a la Brentford. I thought it should have been more than 2-0 and more than 3-0 last night. On a positive note we kept clean sheets.

The above post is so typical of our support - meltdown when we lose, complaints and nitpicking when we win.

Unless we walk five goals into the opposing goal after a sequence of 25 passes, I guess some will never be satisfied.

Saw highlights and it was a comfortable win, even with all those 'inferior' goals. Their goalie made some impressive stops: could easily have been more. Glad to see Simons running the show in the middle and Tel get some CL minutes looking bright.

11 points now, should be enough for a playoff round place. Last year it took 16 points to directly qualify, 13 to be seeded in the playoff round.

Yeah, it was pretty comfortable, at least from the point that I started watching. Im seldom comfortable up a single goal, but I really wasnt arsed the entire second half. They (Slavia) never looked like they were getting anything from it.

    The Xavi factor:

When he starts, we are 8 wins, 2 draws, 2 defeats, and we score 2.08 goals per game.

When he comes on as a sub, we are 0 wins, 5 draws, 4 defeats, and we score 1.22 goals per game.

    Quality players make a difference.
