Spurs vs. McBride As y'all will remember McBride scored his first goal in the Prem for Everton against us last year in a great game that saw Keane get a hat trick -- Will McBride do the same this year -- predictions? I believe history does repeat itself -- 3-1 Spurs at Loftus Road witha goal for McBride and a hat trick for Robbie although Boca scores several great defensive plays on the way to defeat... Malk
Dalmat will make Bocanegra his personal b!tch Get that dress ready Carlos, it's your wedding night! At least Dalmat will do that if he's fully fit and doesn't play as poorly as he did against Liverpool and Man City in the last 2 games..... Give Bocanegra his credit though, a decent start performance-wise even though he's playing at left back. Should be a tough game, even though Fulham have been on a bit of a slump in results and are really missing Saha up front. Fortunately they haven't been able to buy his direct replacement yet, the word is that they want either Robert Earnshaw or Chris Sutton. What makes them dangerous is that they have our nemesis Barry Hayles, he used to support Tottenham when he was a boy, now he seems to exist purely to put one over us at every opportunity. It's the midfield where Fulham are really strong though, Malbranque and Sean Davis in particular are the two key players. So I would make Fulham slight favourites for this game, with a draw being not a bad result for Spurs. Win would be perfect and we have the players for it, but I don't think Pleat is capable of pulling off that kind of result.
Hayles looked flat, old, rusty, glue factory bound[insert negative adjective here] against Newcastle -- don't know his history against Spurs, but hopefully he'll be in similar form on Saturday. This game being televised anywhere in the US? I'd love to watch -- as far as I know this would be the first time three Americans are on the pitch at the same time in the Prem. ever -- or club level soccer in Europe period. Which is to say I'm willing to slap down PPV money to watch this match.
Yep, but I think he knows Inter are going to ask for more money than we'll be willing to pay. Cuper is gone at Inter now so the new management will also surely be willing to give Stephane a second chance. Plus with some of his performances he can afford to hedge his bets, lots of takers for him now. Saying that I think he would stay with us if we coughed up the money, he knows the fans love him and his tricks. Well that's the thing about Hayles, usually he's Clark Kent but against us he's Superman. The heartless b*stard. Will be interesting to see how Coleman lines up for this game (which might well be postponed btw). I suspect he'll drop his 4-5-1 and go with a 4-4-2 with McBride and Hayles up front, Malbranque and Davis in midfield.
In my dreams Coleman would start Sava ahead of Hayles against Tottenham, but that looks unlikely given Hayles past form against us. Sava is not a favourite of Coleman's. He slows the play down too much and isn't a target forward or as hard a worker as Hayles. I know a few Fulham fans who are keen on Sava though, so it's not definite. Game might be called off due to bad weather. Lots of snow today and the 'big freeze' is only expected to end about friday, but who knows if that will happen or if the pitch will be in good enough condition.
Knowing Pleat like we all do he probably won't even play Dalmat and let Poyet and Anderton play instead. How is the wheather there? Game still in doubt?? I am glad I live down south because the Northeastern part of the country is getting hammered with snow in the States. Chris Walker
Sendorange, I think you're going to be surprised about Bocanegra, he doesn't suck ... although most of the rest of Fulham's defenders do. I suspect we'll expose Fulham's central defense, which can be quite bad. I agree about Hayles ... most frustrating as the pain he inflicts on us is always sandwiched between sending us compliments and his utter shyte performances in other games. To me, the keys to this game will be Davis for Fulham and Brown for Spurs. If either of them dominates the center defensively I suspect their team wins. Fulham are a Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde team, it's easy to underestimate them ... like we did earlier this year. -Digital
Should be a win against Saha-less Foolham, watch them and Charlton sink down the league now. Wahaha. Come on Spurs! I am going to see Palace vs Wimbledon tomorrow instead.
Not many people realized it at the time, but in McBride's first game with Everton last year, three Americans started the match. The first two are easy: Keller and McBride. Anyone have a guess as to who the third was? (Hint: all three were born in America so no shenanigans are involved).
Yep, Fulham and Charlton have had their 15 minutes of fame. They'll slip down the table now. Which means a win tomorrow plus other favourable results could have us seriously thinking about sneaking in for a UEFA cup spot by the end of the season. Whether we get a result on saturday is dependent on Pleat, if he learns his lessons from the Man City first half debacle and picks his best team with balance and energy in it then we should be good for at least a draw. If he ****s it up again, then we can lose to anyone, even pub teams would fancy their chances.
Radzinski's from Canada right -- they're practically the 51st state, so I'll say him -- no but really I have no clue.
You win a cookie!! http://www.icons.com/baardsen/biog.html?0 So this will definitely not be the first time three American born players started a Premiership match. And Radzinski is a Canadian international, born in Poland.
He's one of my favorite NT players, its just that he doesn't have the speed to keep up with someone like Dalmat. Which is something I hope is exposed in our match.
Why Baardsen chose to represent Norway was a bit of a mystery...although if I was behind Andy-freakin'-Kirk on the US depth chart, I'd represent another country, myself.
McBride scores on his debut AGAIN. Against Spus AGAIN... I HATE YOU BRIAN MCBRIDE! Not really, just when you score on Keller (meaning Spurs). Anyone else see that our "target" Robinson was ejected today for a professional foul in the penalty area.
I would take Robinson over Keller right now, or at least have both of them to choose from, regardless of a red card for a professional foul when his team was already 2-0 down. At least no palming of the ball to a striker standing a couple of yards away, or yet more poor distribution, particularly kicking. Very good shot stopper Kasey, but those flaws are being exposed too often. Not that there's much help when you've got the likes of Gary Doherty in front of you and the so called "care-taker manager" has clearly never heard of organising a defence or practising defending set pieces. Wasn't a bad performance today, but just a lack of quality outside of the key people, poor tactics and team selection, and the inevitable disappointing fizzling out from a promising position. Not that any of this matters, blatantly obvious that this season has been made a complete write-off by the people in charge. Wolves, Leicester and Leeds will get relegated, but Tottenham will be below midtable, out of the cup and drifing on again in mediocrity for another year. Not that this will stop Levy from continuing to charge the biggest ripoff ticket prices in the league, or Pleat from continuing to pick up his 500 grand a year. Hopefully the Trust or the Action Group will do something protest-wise, would at least make things more interesting.
I predicted McBride would score again in his first appearance against Spurs (I also predicted a hattrick for Keane so...)-- I'd of prefered to be wrong and seen us get at least a point out of the game -- sounded like the weather conditions were pretty bad -- did that have any affect? Anyone think the Kellers and the McBrides may not be getting together for dinner anytime soon?
