A win at last, and in the final home game. A lot of people were geared up to vent some major frustration, so it was good that the team perfomed, and even more so for Defoe because apparently Sven Goran Eriksson was at the Lane. Very nice finish to win it. Hope this gave some incentive to any watching potential managers. There is some genuine talent in our squad. Even better was Levy admitting in the programme notes that this season was an unacceptable disaster and that he owes us big improvements on and off the pitch and a permanent manager. http://www.spurs.co.uk/article.asp?article=202242
I told my mate at work yesterday, 1-0 to the spurs on a Defoe or Keane-O strike. Can't believe I called it so close.
Good result in a meaningless game between two teams who know they'll neither be relegated nor get into Europe. Better than losing, but not particulaly impressive in my book. Had they done this in February, it might have meant something. -Digital
Relaxed performance, free of pressure. Looked good, Defoe looked awesome. It was Tord Grip, not Sven But Grippy said Defoe offers something that none of the other strikers do. So he might well be on the plane.
Tord Grip must have a season ticket at our place! I saw him at the Man City game a few weeks back as well. They must be keeping a close eye on Jermaine and Ledley. Gardner has completely lost his form though, he had a shocker against Blackburn, which is a shame as Ledley has just moved back there alongside him. I loved the fact that Ricketts got a start and of course the fans gave him a good clap when he went off. No doubt in my mind that having him on the left gave the team a lot more balance and creativity. Jackson and Ziege can cross but have absolutely no pace, Davies should only be played on the right otherwise it's a waste.
I didn't see what Ziege did, he played well after coming on but I didn't notice him doing much. Wouldn't surprise me if he was giving his final farewell though. I was a bit bothered about Ricketts giving his shirt away to a fan, nice gesture but hope it wasn't a farewell one!
Can't see Ricketts going anywhere. His performances have been mixed, although he's obviously inexperienced (as well as a little light) but he hasn't fulfilled the promise shown earlier in the season. Can't see him going anywhere but Div 1 and he won't want that. Needs a good season at the Lane before he can move IMO. Hello by the way!
hello. and agreed. i think he should stay and i think he is very talented. he won't want to drop down (i.e to forest in a swap for reid).
