Normally a two-legged affair, this year's League Cup semis will be a single leg. If level at fulltime, there will be the standard overtime period, after which, if still level, it will go to penalties. Brentford currently sit fourth in the Championship, and are in good form. They will be loving this draw and relishing the chance to reach their first major trophy final since ... er ... probably ever. We will presumably be favored by most everyone, but this will by no means be a stroll. One needn't possess my levels of pessimism to feel that this could be a banana skin if we're foolish enough to be looking to the final already (and even if we're not). Lloris (C), Aurier, Sanchez, Dier, Reguilon, Hojbjerg, Sissoko, Ndombele, Lucas, Son, Kane. subs: Hart, Toby, Davies, Tanganga, Winks, White, Dele, Bergwijn, Vinicius If I understand correctly, up to five substitutions will be allowed in this one. Bit nervy, but very much looking forward to it.
Brentford have already beaten four Premier League sides (Soton, West Brom, Fulham, and Newcastle) in reaching this semifinal.
Reguilon with a nice cross into the box, Sissoko gets on the end and heads quite cleanly into the top right. 1-0 Spurs. 12'
Hmmm ... halftime. Spurs score early, with no real threat thereafter. Opposition kept largely silent, given nothing but a half-chance or two. This has a late Brentford goal and 1-1 at fulltime written all over it.
Nice goal. I finally found a stream, but there is no audio. It really makes you focus, lol. I think Spurs have been the better team in the first half.
Son volleys just wide on a cross from Sissoko. Would've been quite a goal - did well enough come so close.
Shambolic defending on back-to-back corners and they've equalized. ... assuming VAR doesn't find him offside.
Brentford having to throw men forward, which has opened everything up. Much better viewing, to be fair.
Tanganga coming on for Hojbjerg. Camera showing the latter's injury - bleeding shin with stud marks running down its lenght. Fairly nasty.
