According to the spurs website we are beating Falkenbergs FF 1-0. We appear to be fielding a very inexperienced team. Apart from that, there's no more info.

Anybody else think that Santini is going to field this team against Norwich or something this upcoming season?

No. Elsewhere on the Spurs site it says that the next match, against FC Copenhagen will feature 'senior' players.

    Result: Spurs 2-2 FC Copenhagen

    From the Spurs website;

'Jermain Defoe was straight back on the goal trail as we drew against FC Copenhagen at Gothenberg's Ullevi Stadium on Thursday night.
The England striker scored a goal out of nothing to put us 2-1 up against the Danish champions in this second friendly of our Swedish training camp.

Having looked at the youngsters against Falkenbergs FF on Tuesday, Jacques Santini fielded a full-strength side - including debutant Sean Davis - for what was an evenly-contested friendly and a decent performance against a side just about to kick-off their domestic and Champions League campaigns.

Defoe's moment of magic arrived after 58 minutes. Stephen Carr cut infield from the right but nothing looked on when Defoe picked the ball up centrally 30 yards out.

But he stepped on the gas, sprinted away from Bo Svensson and into the box before calmly side-footing into the corner beyond Magnus Kihlstedt.

Defoe, who just missed out on England's Euro 2004 squad, looked sharp and deservedly won man of the match.

It looked as if his strike would be enough but FC Copenhagen substitute Thomas Roll Larsen curled home a fine equaliser after 77 minutes.

The Danes had two chances via the head of Todi Jonsson to nick it in the last 10 minutes - the first was cleared off the line and Jonsson then missed the target from six yards in the game's last chance.

The first half was less eventful and edged by FC Copenhagen. They went ahead inside five minutes when a mix-up on the edge of the box allowed Alvaro Santos to dink the ball over Keller and tap home.

Defoe set up our first chance, headed over by Johnnie Jackson, but we levelled a minute later when Dean Richards powered home Michael Brown's corner.'

Line-ups: Spurs: Keller, Carr, Taricco, Richards, Bunjevcevic, Davies (Marney, 61), Brown, Davis, Jackson (Ricketts, 68), Keane, Defoe. Subs: Doherty, Fulop, Kelly, Mabizela, McKie, Hughes, Yeates, Barnard.

Attendance: 15,104 (that's mental! Both of the teams are playing abroad!)

    Points;

    1. Deano is probably crapping himself thinking about getting sold/swapped. I think he ought to go, if only because Portsmouth have now got rid of all their aging Spurs rejects. They NEED him.

    2. Getting rid of Postiga was a good thing for him. He'd never have replaced Defoe. Even though Jermaine is a dirty Gooner, he will one day become a Spurs legend. In fact, I think we may struggle to hold onto him in the future. He's better that Owen, or at least, has more potential.

Spurs announce new friendly home fixture!!

    Spurs V. Cagliari ! Tickets=Peanuts!

    Saturday, August 7th 3pm

'Prices for juniors and senior citizens are just £5, while adult seats in the North and South stands are available for only £10. Adult seats in the East and West stands are £15. You can also purchase a special family ticket for this match. This ticket will allow a family of four (2 adults and 2 children) to come to the game for only £30! '

Does this indicate that Keller is still #1 or is Robinson injured?

I would imagine not, because the players that went to Euro2004 are being given a few weeks off.

King is at home still, with his new baby in hospital. Robinson is too, i read an article about it yesterday.

I'm a Defoe fan. He gets the business done. I don't know if I can say he's better or even has more potential than Owen, but I like Defoe's chances to be as productive in the future as Owen will be ... and at considerably less wages. I still think Keano is our best forward though. I also think it's a major waste to play Keano in midfield. So, I hope the smallish pairing of Defoe up high and Keane floating around behind him up top works.

I'm with Digital. I can't see Keane playing in the midfield. I think Keane and Defoe can make a good pairing, but we also need to find a way to get a target up front.

4-3-3 is not popular in English football, but it would be a way to get the players we need on the field.

Defoe will be top scorer this season. The lad's gonna be a leg-end.

Keane and Defoe will be a good partnership but I worry about the lack of height.

I'm with that! I reckon he'll break 20 goals this season, super player, not just his goalscoring but his enthusiasm as well has really impressed me. Great to have him and he's the player I'm most looking forward to watching at the Lane this season.

To play both Defoe and Keano will require a major change in tactics for Spurs. A total passing game, instead of lumping it up to Keano and hoping the taller defender who goes to challenge for it misses it.

Yes Keano would be wasted in midfield, and he might get irked like King did last season.

Santini has stated that he wants to buy 3 or 4 more players, and sell/lose 2 or 3. What is the betting that Richards and Doherty are in his 'Get Rid Of' list?

Spurs V Trollhatten - Happening right now, bitches!

    its 0-0

Another young team for Santini to mull over, and Fulop, our new GK is getting his debut.

Spurs: Fulop, Kelly, McKie, Mabizela, Doherty, Marney, Hughes, Davis, Ricketts, Yeates, Barnard. Subs: Carr, Mendes, Keane, Ifil, O'Donoghue, O'Hara, McKenna, Slabber, Malcolm, Burch.

I'd like to see how Mabizela and Kelly in defence do, Davis and Ricketts in midfield, Yeates and Barnard in attack.

Ricketts is like a poor mans Wright-Phillips. If he gets enough opportunities I think he'll be awesome, but will he be able to displace Davies on the right? If Davies has another season like last season then I hope so!

I'd like Convey to join and compete with Jackson on the left, and Matty Taylor and/or Konchesky to boot Tano out on his arse! Even tho i love Tano and am always defending him, it'd be nice to have a LB who can play football!

Game updates, pilfered from Spurs official website.

    Kick-off: 2.05pm

6mins: Yeates spread play from right to left, McKie and Ricketts combined to set up a Hughes 20-yarder that went over the bar.

8mins: Deep Kelly cross picked up by Ricketts, low shot gathered by keeper Wennergren.

10mins: Marney's free-kick from 25 yards skipped up, but Wennergren saved well.

15mins: Kristoffersson's 20 yard shot easily taken by Fulop.

It seems like we've had the better start.

'Pedro Mendes and Marton Fulop made their debuts but injuries overshadowed the third and final friendly of our Swedish training camp against Trollhattan on Saturday.
Lee Barnard was rushed to hospital with a suspected broken collar bone and Jamie Slabber was withdrawn within minutes of replacing Barnard with a shoulder problem.'

So we lost, but it was a very inexperienced side. More worrying is the injuries to the youngsters.
