    So much respect.

I'm a Spurs fan, but I sure hope DC United wins and wins big. So big in fact that when they read the papers the next day they have to reach deep into their bag of excuses about how the old stars must have really lost it. Even if DC United wins 9-0 it will not be about how United is good, but rather about how the past stars are just too old or too unfit. Tsk tsk tsk. Oh well.

    Go DC United!

I'm sure they'll figure out who Pope is as soon as he goes forward on set pieces. ;)

I think that DC are in a win/win situation. The pressure is on Spurs. If DC win, then that is great; if they lose, well then it was to be expected especially as the season has finished, etc.

It will be hard to guage the outcome, but I do hope that both teams play fully and not treat it as an exhibition (I could see Spurs doing that as it is just a friendly in the middle of a difficult season). Wouldn't it be great if FSW shown the game?

DC is in a lose, lose situation.

Beat a bunch of 40 year olds, then they were supposed to.

Lose to a bunch of 40 year olds and then "see I told you the MSL is shite".

This showing by DC should set back MLS' image in England at least 6 years or so.

    Waiting with baited breath

I don't think it is a lose/lose situation (although maybe I was being a bit too optimistic with calling it a win/win), eric, as Spurs will expect to win even with a "seniors" team - otherwise, they wouldn't have asked DC to play.

They must not have had a Pope/Goose pic, they just pulled the entire photo. :)

Wrong. It's a charity match, nothing more. A bit of fun for the fans, old players, and a little post-season workout and vacation for DCU. There's nothing remotely serious about this match. I wouldn't be surprised to see Hudson get a few minutes on the pitch. This match will say nothing about MLS, good or bad.
