I remember once the English journos were freaking out when Alex Lacazette said after an Arsenal loss that the players "didn't respect Arteta's game plan" and they took it as meaning that the players had no respect for Arteta (which may be true).

Lacazette was just mixing his French with his English - in that context, "respecter" means to follow in French, as in they didn't follow the game plan.

All joking aside, a great signing and no weeks-long haggling. This is definitely Paratici's show now.

I may have spoken too soon: https://www.skysports.com/football/...-for-further-talks-for-middlesbrough-defender

According to Sky, Levy is leading the negotiations to purchase Djed Spence. In typical Levy fashion, he has made a low-ball bid of £10 million, which Boro will never accept. I hope Levy doesn't blow this one, we are not the only club interested.

If this were Man City, Liverpool or Chelsea, it would have been done and dusted a week ago.

I'm reading that as agent talk. There was nothing in that blub saying it came from the club.

Yes, important to remember (see what I did there?) is that we basically are watching grown men who are paid to play a children's game wearing clothing best described as pajamas and that you wouldn't be caught dead wearing expecting their association with a team that you and others also follow.

Supposedly we have agreed personal terms with Richarlison and Everton's chairman was seen dining with Levy last night.

Everton is offering Bergwijn higher wages than Ajax.

Lenglet has been told to shit or get off the pot by the end of the week.

TeamTalk is reporting that we have tabled a 100 million pound offer for Richarlisson and Anthony Gordon (80 mil upfront + 20 mil in performance-based add-ons).

Gordon would be a great young talent to get, could be a big star.

Richarlisson can play in a front three and fill in for Kane as striker.

Everton need to make sales to avoid a Financial Fair Play punishment.

However, it is very rare for a team to sell 2 players to the same team in the same deal, and Everton do not want to part with Gordon.

From what I understand, he and another bloke in his 40s were led out of a Brighton nightclub in handcuffs on suspicion of sexual assault. He was released on bail while the affair was under investigation. He was never formally charged with anything.

Not exactly a good thing that he was in a position to be arrested.

Richarlison is all but confirmed now.

At last we have a player who can shithouse like Lamela (and score and assist more)

Tottenham agree deals for Richarlison and Lenglet
Richarlison is set to undergo his medical in Brazil after Tottenham agreed a £60m deal with Everton while an agreement is also in place to sign Clement Lenglet

Spurs are finally approaching the transfer window like an "important" club! Getting players ready to play in the EPL, and getting them in before preseason training starts. I've been following the club for 20 years and this is a first.

Fantastic player and good work by the club to secure him. Lotta money but he's only 25: we will get his prime years. Harry, Son, Lucas are all pushing 30.

In 173 PL games, Richarlisson has 48 goals and 16 assists.

Last season he scored 10 and assisted 5 for a poor Everton side that only scored 43 goals in the league.

He gives us pace, depth, competition for a spot in the starting XI, and someone who can fill in for Kane as the #9.

Fabrizio Romano and The Athletic are both saying that the Richarlison deal is done.

Not on the official site yet, though. Still, about as confident as one can be without club confirmation.

I'm not convinced about Richarlison, but if the recruitment team want him, I trust them.

That's kind of where I am. He's not someone I would have been overly keen on, but backing the manager is enough to get me excited on its own.

Poch and Harry - hell, all of 'em - will be thinking to themselves, "if only ...".

Two separate ITKs on SC are saying that Spence is not happening. One is saying that we've offered significantly more than Forest, but won't go higher. Paratici has been instructed to move on to other targets.

Maybe the Jack Clarke fiasco is making them reluctant to overpay for a Championship player.
