Would the USWNT players play for NCC, HOU, etc.? Would Andonovski then have to fill out his roster with players on the fringe of the NT?

Edit: Maybe not so much for HOU. Don't remember if they have no NT right now. Questions still apply though.

They could have asked a CONCACAF team, possibly Costa Rica or Jamaica.

Considering it's all just friendlies, I would hope the upcoming club season would preempt the general NT practice and those dual-listed players would play with their club if there was a dual-listing issue.

Sadly I guess they will remain inactive, since they officially withdrew from AFC Olympic qualifiers.

Isn't Belgium part of Algarve Cup's line-up? :cautious:

Anybody else feels that the SBC has lost it’s luster? I mean it started out it’s 1st three years with usually the four top ranked teams in the world. Then last time around had two top 10 borderline teams in Japan & Brazil. Now they let the lowest ranked team yet in Spain.

Meantime France seems like it’s stole the SBC’s thunder by starting their own tourney(and with higher ranked squads/all in the top 10). The only problem is the Dutch usually can’t live up to their reputation in these ‘quickly’/friendly type tourneys. Their best when giving the time train & jelling together during the major summer ones like the Euros & WC considering those last at least 3 weeks. Canada seems to be on a downhill slide as well, loosing two games recently by both 0-4. Brazil might of gotten better, but if their promising newbies will be giving more chances to start.

Germany still looks like the best team in Europe, but their bizarre, coaching behavior keeps letting them down(their coach, MVT using the WC as a rebuilding platform & really, what are they doing in the weaker, Algarve Cup?

Going back to the SBC, at least all you & wild crazy ‘purist’ fans will enjoy the Japan vs Spain matchup. These two will pass the jeepers out of the ball until they finally ‘lull’ their opponents to sleep till finally make the surprise, long ball to their runners

With the appropriate training and fitness done by the various teams, sure. But as we see in running/athletics, there are still male training and fitness techniques used with the women.

I won't speak for others, but the men are overworked in many cases. Some of the better club managers have become quite good at player management, and some clubs just buy lots of players to combat this. But for the top teams, both men and women in Europe, there are too many matches.

That's a bit too aggressive and unnecessary, and I can't see the need to have stated this. You want to take this view to the US Women's forum, that's fine and fits the nature of that forum better, but here you are trolling.

I would also appreciate it of you reply to my DM from a month ago.

sorry, just wanted to wake up fans out there. I've contributed for nearly 7 years on Big Soccer, and it's sad to say but at least 95% of the regulars have disapeared from this forum. Don't know if they've been banned or just lost interest in woso(when you would think it should be gaining), but it's contributed to a near dead message board. One of the few that hangs around, freely admits he don't actually watch woso games(just likes to post)
I would ask the mods not to be so heavy handed and our allow a little free spirited debates, the point should be about willing to agree to disagree/or bring fans together, not seperate them

You are mistaking "free spirited" with aggressive (not the character of this board), rude, and trolling. The issue was what I quoted, nothing else.

But, again, please respond to my DM I sent you a month ago.

Just a guess, both it could be an attitude from European men soccer getting trough. Everything is in the clubs, so best way to grow the game is get the clubs more time with the players. So cutting down the players time with the NTs for less important game could be a step in that direction.

Could be that they wanted a re-match against Sweden. And if they joined for that it could explain why the "draw" put the two highest ranked teams of the Algarve Cup up against each other in the first round.

that's good their playing each first other as at least hoping, both start their best. Sweden is definitley surging back to a viable/top contender; Guardian gave 9 out of their top 100 list to Swedes(which was way ahead over both Germany & Holland with only 6 each). but that don't include a slew of newcomers like Janogy, Ilestead, Zigiotti & especially Anvegard who might of broke an world record vs the USWNT with 2 goals in four minutes.
But then look at Germany's wunderkind sensations, Buhl & Oberdorf, and you got to wonder if their the new Ada & Caro?(who as teens brought Norway single(double handily) right into the 2013 Euro finals. Everything seem to think their that good if you go by not only the England friendly from last November, but Euro qualifiers where they've allready beaten 2nd ranked(in their group) Ukraine by twin scores of 8-0(with Buhl leading all scores)Add to the rescurrected careers of Pauline Bremer & Lena Petermann(both strong goal scorers in the WSL & French League). Coach MVT has even more wild cards as she hasn't even used yet players from current 2nd place(Bundesliga) Hoffenheim
.The only thing hampering her is not having a top CB and/or being a disciple of the horrid, Jorgi Low, & his skeleton defensive tactics(as MTV has been starting the 17 Oberdorf as an attacking CB).

Of course Sweden has 'bigger fish to fry'(like preparing for the Olympics) but still #2 vs #4 is something to look forward too

After DPK, the next four teams without something on their spring schedule (COL, ARG, CHI, CRC) are all Latin American. Speaks to the sad state of WoSo support south of the US... It's especially a bad look for Chile, who really should be preparing for the C'BOL-CAF playoffs in April.
